Wiggin Street Parent Update

Students have been busy creating artworks to support our PBIS theme this school year- "Be a Hero." The artworks will be on display at our school to help serve as a visual reminder that we all can be a hero!

In the spring of 2025, Wes Molebash, author of the Travis Daventhorpe series, visited Wiggin Street and shared that he was working on a new book. We are excited to share that the book has now been released!

Wes will be at First Friday tonight for a book signing at Paragraphs Bookstore at 6:00 p.m., where he will be promoting his new book, Travis Daventhorpe Gets a Life! I’m sure he would love to see some of our Wiggin Street Kids!

Don’t forget to order your Wiggin Street Spirit Wear. The deadline is September 10th, which will allow orders to arrive in time for our All-School Picture on September 28th.

Also, the deadline for our Mumkin Sale has been extended to September 15th, with delivery scheduled for September 24th. This is a great opportunity to support Wiggin Street while adding some beautiful fall color to your home!

Finally, a reminder that we do not have school on Monday. We hope you all enjoy the long Labor Day weekend with friends and family!

Wiggin Street Spirit Wear Sale

The Wiggin Street Spirit Wear Sale continues through September 10th. This is a great way for you and your child to show school spirit! Visit the store today at Wiggin Street School Spirit Store to explore all the NEW designs. Let’s start the year with renewed spirit and pride!

These t-shirts will be delivered in time for our All-School Picture on September 28th at 3:00 p.m.. Students should wear Wiggin Street spirit wear or a red shirt for the picture.

Interested in being more involved with our school? First Grade parents can sign up to provide snacks for teachers in October. Also, we would love to have you join us for the next PTO meeting on Tuesday, October 6th, at 5:00 in the school library. Hope to see you then!

We require that all adults attending field trips will need a BCI background check on file. The board will pay for any parent's background check done through the MVCSD district office to go on field trips or to volunteer at the school. The BCI background check will need to be done every 3 years and needs to be on file in our office. If any parent needs a background check, please go to the district office with your driver's license. Thank you.

As a district we are 1:1 on Chromebooks, and students in grades 1-5 receive a touchscreen Chromebook to be used in class. K students regularly use iPads and/or Chromebooks that are assigned to students and kept in the classroom.

The MVCSD Student Electronic Device Handbook can also be found on the district website, but I've linked it here for convenience. Please read carefully to understand that "a Student Electronic Device or any of its accessories that are lost (whereabouts unknown) or damaged is the responsibility of the student and parent involved in the loss of property.

There is an option to purchase insurance on devices kept at school, and more information can be found here: OPT IN Student Electronic Device Insurance Flyer (These will be sent home at the start of the school year.) The cost is $39 per device (K-12). Accidents happen, so I highly encourage the purchase of insurance to save you from paying for the cost of a replacement screen or Chromebook with a replacement cost of $368-$455.
