APS welcomes Michael Pfifferling

Dear APS staff and families,

I am excited to share that Michael Pfifferling will join the Andover Public Schools as Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Administration this fall.

Michael brings more than a decade of leadership experience in public education, following a 20-year career in the private sector. He previously served as School Business Administrator in Wakefield Public Schools and as Assistant Superintendent of Finance and Operations in Haverhill and Marblehead Public Schools. In these roles, he oversaw district finances as well as operations including facilities, human resources, technology, transportation, and nutrition services.

Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) as both a School Business Administrator and Assistant Superintendent/Superintendent, Michael holds degrees from Northern Essex Community College, Southern New Hampshire University, and Worcester State University, where he earned a Master's in Educational Leadership. He has also served as a mentor for aspiring school business leaders through the Massachusetts Association of School Business Officials.

Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to fiscal stewardship, educational leadership, mentorship, and public service.

I look forward to introducing Michael to the Andover community.
