ClassTag
Just a reminder, we are using the ClassTag communications program districtwide for our parent/student communications which will include Athletics and Extracurriculars. The goal in using this program is to provide clear, consistent communication regarding all things for your students in one place, as opposed to having multiple apps for each of your students activities.

Carver Cares Student Survey Consent Form
Our school is taking part in a modified version of the Youth Risk Behavior Survey sponsored by the district’s Drug Free Communities (DFC) Grant through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The survey will ask about the substance use trends of students. The survey will take about 5-10 minutes, or less, for students to complete.
Some students might find certain questions to be sensitive because it deals with substance use issues. The survey has been designed to protect your child’s privacy. Students will not put their names on the survey. The data gathered in the survey helps provide the best picture of what is going on with adolescent health related to substance use in our community.
We would like all students to take part in the survey, but the survey is voluntary. Students may skip any questions they do not wish to answer. In addition, students may stop taking the survey at any point without penalty.
Please complete the attached form and return it to the Middle High School main office by Friday, February 9, if you do not want your child to take part in the survey. If you would like to see the survey, a copy can be made available to you. If you have any additional questions, please contact Carver Middle High School Assistant Principals Sean McInnis or Dillion Antell at 508-866-6130.
The Middle School Yearbook is looking for any pictures of MS sports, clubs, trips, events, etc. that can be included in this year's edition. Please email photos to the MS Yearbook Advisor; Jen Genovese (genovesej@carver.org) by Friday, February 9th. Yearbooks are available and the cost is $40. They can be purchased at jostens.com.
Lost and Found
There are many items in our lost and found located in the library lobby area outside the cafeteria. All items will be donated to charity during February vacation. We encourage students to look for missing items in the lost and found prior to February 16th.
National School Counselors Week
This week, we are celebrating National School Counselors Week! Our CMHS Counseling Team includes Sean Vance, Sean Sullivan, Christina Nolan, Chrissy McKenna, Sara Charbonneau, Bonnie Moran, and Trish Winslow. Our school counselors support our students in all areas of academic achievement. They guide our students with career development and awareness. They work with our students to develop effective study and organizational skills. They assist our students in personal, social, and emotional development. We are fortunate to have such a strong and experienced team of counselors at CMHS! We thank them for all they do to support our Carver Community!
GUIDANCE NEWS
Course Selection
High school counselors will speak with students in Grades 8-11 about the Course Selection process during History classes over the next two weeks. Students will select courses and should review them with families over February break.
Career Interest Survey
The middle school guidance staff will visit the 7th-grade students in the upcoming weeks to administer a Career Interest Survey and talk to the students about future career choices.
SAT School Day at CMHS
We are excited to announce that we will be offering the SAT at Carver Middle High School on Wednesday, April 4th. Click here to register. The registration deadline is: Tuesday, February 13th. We strongly encourage juniors to take advantage of this opportunity even though many colleges are still test optional! For students who do well on the exam, it is a great addition to their application file.
JUNIOR WORKSHOP
The first class will be held on Tuesday, February 6th. In this class we will be giving students an overview of what to expect in junior workshops and the students will be set up on Scoir, which is the platform we use for college and career searches. Junior Workshop will be taught by the guidance department during selected WIN blocks and will run throughout the remainder of the school year. During the course of this workshop, students will explore college and career choices and will begin to develop their post-secondary plans. They will have the opportunity to research and explore careers, colleges and universities, technical schools, military programs, apprenticeships, and the workforce. They will create a resume, learn professional etiquette, and they will have the opportunity to attend a field trip and college fair at Bridgewater State University. The details of the location and times for Junior Workshop will be sent to students prior to each session. We look forward to working with all of you in developing your plans for the future and making your dreams a reality.
