The Kellogg School District is excited to announce that all KSD schools are now covered under the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) grant, ensuring that every student in every building receives free meals, both breakfast and lunch, under this provision at the following schools:

  • Canyon Elementary

  • Pinehurst Elementary

  • Kellogg Middle School

  • Kellogg High School

Until now, only Pinehurst Elementary and Kellogg Middle School were participating in the CEP program. Beginning today, September 2, 2025, the program has been expanded to include Canyon Elementary and Kellogg High School, meaning all students enrolled in the district can now access breakfast and lunch at no cost.

Superintendent Lance Pearson shared, “This is a huge step forward in supporting our students and families. We are thrilled that no child in our district will have to worry about affording school meals.”

A special thank you goes to Food Services Director Leah Figueroa for championing this effort and working diligently to make sure our students have the fuel they need to succeed.

What’s Free for Students Under CEP

All students at KSD schools now receive, at no cost:

  • Breakfast

  • Lunch

No applications are required, and no student pays for meals—every student eats free, regardless of family income.

What is NOT Automatically Free

The CEP program covers regular meals only. Extra items (sometimes called “à la carte”) are still available for purchase, including:

  • Milk (when purchased separately)

  • Second servings

  • Bottled drinks

  • Snacks (chips, cookies, etc.)

  • Ice cream or specialty items

What This Means for Students

  • No money needed for daily breakfast or lunch

  • No free/reduced meal applications required

  • Every student receives the same meals, with no distinctions (continued on next page)

For more information, please contact the Kellogg School District Food Services Department at 208-784-1348 or leah.figueroa@kelloggschools.org.

The school MAY share your eligibility information with education, health, and nutrition programs to help them evaluate, fund, or determine benefits for their programs, auditors for program reviews, and law enforcement officials to help them look into violations of program rules.
