Principal's Note
Dear Shoreham Community,
This past week at SES was filled with so many moments of joy. Every day was an opportunity for our students to show kindness and compassion towards one another. Shoreham kids love to help others, and are always looking for ways to help our school be better. For example, 4th graders clean their classroom after lunch every day, 1st graders straighten up our hallway, 5th graders help out in younger grades during quiet time.
Starting this week, there will be further opportunities for kindness & connection; our recess and lunch schedule will look a little different. Instead of all grades having recess at the same time, Kindergarten, 1st and 5th grade will have recess and lunch together, and 2nd, 3rd and 5th will be together. This means everyone gets to eat in the cafeteria, and recess will be a chance for students to practice their skills in smaller cohorts.
I hope everyone had a restful week, and enjoys the snow headed our way!

Winter Concerts-
Tuesday, December 19th -6:00 pm for K-5 General Music
4th and 5th Grade Band Concert- Friday December 15th at 2PM
Winter Craft Event - Thursday, December 21st from 12:30pm to 2:30pm. Sign-up forms were sent home on Wednesday, Nov. 29th.
Winter Break - Begins Friday, December 22nd and goes through Monday, January 1, 2024.
4th grade students finished up a math unit all about multiplication and division. They are feeling proud to show their knowledge!
3rd graders are working together to show principled behavior in their classroom. They are earning "checks" each time they follow directions, and do the right thing. They earned 3 times on Friday!
2nd Graders are practicing measuring, number lines and story problems using Jack and the Beanstalk as a model text. As them about Jack's Beans.
Kindergarten & 1st graders worked together on Friday in the woods. They had the best time!
In PE classes, they began a new unit about Jump Roping! They are LOVING to practice their new skills at recess!
Shoreham Rec Department News
Hip Hop dance is wrapping up week of 12/11/23. We hope to offer again next year so stay tuned for dates. 2-4yrs and K-5. We plan to offer smaller groups based on ages.
Basketball sign ups are available!!. Offering January-February. 2-4yrs and K-5.
(Possible Scholarships available for families)
Baseball/t-ball sign up's in March for practices in April.
