It's shocking to me that it's June already! I hope that you are all able to have a fun summer, whether it's sending your children to be with us for ESY or some good old fashioned relaxing time.
To those parents that sent in supplies and gift cards for our Staff Appreciation week, thank you very much! Our staff received treats daily and the daily drawing for gift cards was a huge hit. Your generosity was felt.
Thank you to our families who were able to stop by for Open House! We loved getting to know you and sharing dinner with you. If you were unable to attend, Cheryl Domino, our OT, had our dental chair available , so that parents and future students could see our addition to the OT program. We also had our swimming pool open, so that parents and friends could see the inviting pool where our students get to experience water therapy. Our Silent Auction was successful, and we earned $905 for future activities.
June 5 we will be having Herman Jothe from Alta Regional Center present during Hoppy Hour. I urge all of our high school parents to attend to help you understand the next steps following your child's time at Ralph Richardson Center and things that you can do to ease the transition.
Jessica Johnston has asked that we share this note with you:
As the school year winds down, I wanted to share some news with everyone. I accepted a SLP position in the small school district where I live and my children go to school, so unfortunately, this will be my last year at Ralph Richardson. This has not been an easy decision to make, as I have been lucky enough to be a part of the RRC family since 2019. It has been such a joy watching your child grow and find their voice. I will miss everyone so much! ❤️
Be assured that I am committed to a smooth transition and will be working with your teachers to ensure their supports continue. Please don't hesitate to reach out - I am available by phone/text at 916-546-2376 or email at jessica.johnston@sanjuan.edu. Thank you so much for trusting me to be a part of your child's team over the years,
Jessi
We are very saddened by Jessi's news, but want to wish her the best of luck! We assure you that we have already been working on finding someone to take Jessi's position. Her shoes are going to be very difficult to fill, but we will make every effort to continue to provide quality speech services to our students.
