Magnet homestretch notes

It has been a busy, exciting first year with this magnet theme. We have so many wonderful great examples of magnet theme integrations throughout the building!! I know we are all at different points in the magnet integration. Some people have fully integrated the theme. Others have truly struggled with the magnet theme. We are all figuring it out together! In this week's report I'll get you updated on all things magnet!

What in the world are SDGs?

In 2015 the United Nations created Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that are the foundation of global health. Here is a quick intro about SDGs. Most of us are already teaching magnet theme content, but probably don't know it! You will be getting this week a poster for your classroom of the SDGs as it relates to health. I hope it makes your connections to the theme easier.

Magnet happenings- what is new?

It has taken some time, but finally some physical changes are underway! Here are just a few changes:

- Big snazzy 4 ft x 8 ft acrylic sign with an explanation of our magnet theme. Luna's student Savannah Deaver is working on the design!

- Ambulance out back will look like an Athens Drive HS ambulance! Luna's student Effrain made the design! It will also be outfitted for use as a stationary lab for HSA classes.

- The downstairs around 1800 will have 2 gorgeous collaborative spaces. Lockers will be removed and snazzy furniture and teaching tools will be added. Construction was delayed, but starts this week! I will share more of the big changes with you next week!
