BEAR MAIL
Friday May 22nd.
Message from Mrs. Fippin
Hi everyone,
Thank you to everyone who joined us at Carnival last week. It was a fantastic event, and we are grateful to the Parents' Club for their hard work and dedication. We are so fortunate to have such amazing parent volunteers supporting our school community.
Thank you to all the volunteers who attended the Volunteer Tea on Wednesday. We are deeply grateful for your support of BCE throughout the year—our success would not be possible without you. Thank you as well to our teachers for hosting such a wonderful event and providing delicious food.
Next week will be a busy one! Friday is Field Day—please ensure your child wears clothes that can get wet. Next Friday is also our final Spirit Day of the year: 'Anything but a Backpack Day.' We look forward to seeing the creative ideas everyone brings!
The 5th-grade promotion will take place on Wednesday, June 3rd, at 9:00 a.m. on the upper field. Drop-off that morning will be especially busy, and there will be no additional parking available on campus. Please allow extra time to park off campus. Additional details will be sent to 5th-grade families soon.
We are excited to offer summer learning books and maps again this year. You should receive them in the next week. Summer learning is vital for keeping our BCE Bears ready for the next school year. This year, each student will have three options: reading 20 minutes a day, completing summer learning books, or using online learning platforms (Lexia/I-Ready).
Have a wonderful weekend! Only 8 school days left until Summer Break!
See you all on Tuesday—enjoy your three-day weekend!Gerri Fippin

As part of our PBIS focus on building a positive school community, students and staff came together for our annual Staff vs. 5th Grade Soccer Game! Our community also showed up for our annual BCE Carnival last Friday. These events help us meet our PBIS goals because it promotes belonging, positive relationships, and school spirit. Thanks for supporting the BCE Community.
2026 BCE Carnival!
Our annual BCE Carnival was a huge success! A heartfelt thank you to our incredible Parents Club for organizing an amazing event, and to all the families who came out to help raise funds for our students and programs. We are so grateful for our amazing BCE community!
BCE Traditions...Staff vs. 5th Graders Soccer!
As part of our PBIS focus on teamwork and sportsmanship, students and staff came together for our annual Staff vs. 5th Grade Soccer Game! The friendly competition was a lot of fun as classes gathered during lunch to cheer on the players. What a great tradition!
State CAASPP Testing for 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade
Supporting Our Students...
Our 3rd–5th grade students wrapped up ELA and Math CAASPP Testing this week. 5th Graders are wrapping up the Science CAST test now. This is an opportunity for students to show what they’ve learned and celebrate their growth! On Friday, May 29th, we will have an Ice Cream Float Party for all 3rd through 5th Graders to celebrate their hard work. Way to go, BCE Bears! We are proud of your effort. Thanks to the Parents Club for funding our celebration! 💙

Kids teaching kids calm down strategies!
This week, some of our small group alumni volunteered to teach TK and Kindergarten students some of their favorite calm-down techniques! It was wonderful to see students build confidence by becoming teachers and role models for younger peers. Teaching others helps children strengthen the skills they have learned, while also giving younger students the chance to learn from classmates in a fun and meaningful way. We look forward to continuing these “mini-lessons” instructed by another group of 2nd graders next week!

We are the Transitional Kindergarten (TK) teachers and Instructional Aides form Boulder Creek Elementary School, and we are so excited to welcome new learners!! If you have a child who will turn 4 before September 1st, they are eligible for TK and we are happy to enroll them!!
Tk is a wonderful bridge between preschool and kindergarten. Our classrooms focus on social emotional growth, early literacy and math skills, and lots of hands-on, play-based learning in a a positive and nurturing environment. Best of all it's part of the public school system- so it's free!
If you're still deciding between preschool and TK or have any questions about TK, please email us or call the BCE Office at 831-338-6413. We love helping families make the best decision for their little ones.
Look forward to a great year of learning and growing together!!

Don't Forget the Rules for Drop off and Pick up
Drop Off and Pick Up
We have had several issues the past couple of weeks at both drop off and pick up. Please know that all of us out at the cross walk are only trying to keep our students and families safe. I wanted to remind everyone to please first be Kind and Patient. Here are a few reminders about pick up and drop off
- You can drop off on either side of Laurel Street.
- You can NOT drop off coming up on Lomond street.
- You can only leave your car in designated parking spots on Laurel street.
- Make sure you are not parking in front of our neighbors drive ways
- On Lomond Street, you need to park in the right direction. Buses are not able to get through when cars are away from the side and parked in the wrong direction.
- When walking down Lomond Street please use the sidewalk. We have had a few close calls with kids and parents walking in the center of the street.
Thank you everyone for helping ensure safety of all of our students. Below is the parking map again for reference.
