- A parent who shows up consistently, asks important questions, and helps build bridges for other families
- A front office or food service staff member who helps students feel welcomed, seen, and cared for throughout the day
- A teacher or counselor who takes time to understand what a student needs and helps them find a path forward
- A principal who builds a welcoming school where students, staff, and families feel they belong
- A district leader who brings people together, removes barriers, and helps make whole-child support a priority across schools
- A community partner who works closely with schools to connect students and families with meaningful support.
Anyone can nominate! 👉🏻 Nominate a Care in Action Champion HERE or through attached flyer
Nominations are due by December 15. Please share the flyer widely and help us reach staff, students, families, and community partners across the county.

This initiative is designed to support a more focused learning environment while encouraging real, in-person connection outside of the digital world. For more information and answers to frequently asked questions, please visit www.lodiusd.net/be-present.

E-Bike and Scooter Safety
If your child is riding an E-Bike or scooter to school, please review the following information provided to Lodi USD by law enforcement to ensure that your child is following regulations and is riding with safety.
- E-Bikes - There are three classifications of e-bikes. All e-bikes must have an electric motor of less than 750 watts.
- Class 1 and 2: These e-bikes are similar to regular bicycles. They can be identified as pedal assisted with an electric motor that reaches a maximum speed of 20mph. Class 1 and 2 riders must wear a helmet while riding and adhere to the same regulations as regular bicycles.
- Class 3: These e-bikes are pedal assisted with an electric motor that ceases to provide power at 28mph. These e-bikes have age restrictions, riders must be 16 years or older, and must be wearing a helmet at all times when riding.
- Motorized Scooters - Motorized scooters are two-wheeled devices with a floorboard or seat, and are powered by an electric motor.
- Riders of motorized scooters must be 16 years of age or older, and must have a valid driver's license or learner's permit to legally ride. Riders must also wear a helmet
Please help us keep students safe by ensuring these regulations are followed. Thank you!

Staying Connected - Download the ParentSquare App!
As Lodi USD continues to move towards our goal of clear, timely, and transparent communication, we want to ensure that our families are receiving communication with ease. You should already be receiving communication through email and text - if you're not, please reach out to our school's office to let us know. The next step with staying connected is downloading the ParentSquare app! Available for both iPhones and Androids, downloading the app ensures instant access to updates, and provides an easy way to interact with posts, direct messages, forms, and more. Download the free app by following the link in the button below.
If you need help accessing ParentSquare, please reach out to communications@lodiusd.net.
ParentSquare Notification Settings
Thank you for your patience as we get familiar with our new ParentSquare platform. We have heard feedback from some of you regarding the amount or frequency of notifications you are receiving. Families are able to change their settings and preferences within the app and browser. To do so, follow these instructions.
If you are interested in learning more about ParentSquare or need help setting up your account settings, please visit www.lodiusd.net/parentsquare or contact communications@lodiusd.net. We hope this helps!
Student Chromebook
In order to make our student accounts more secure, LodiUSD has begun a two step verification process when they log into their Chromebook.
We had all students choose their two step verification this past week. Some students discovered that this made logging into their Chromebook at home difficult. LodiUSD Technology department has provided these directions to help resolve that problem.

CalKIDS Program
CalKIDS is a California State initiative that provides funds for college or career training after high school through the State’s Children Savings Account Program. The Program automatically establishes CalKIDS college savings accounts on behalf of children born in California on or after July 1, 2022 from $25 to $175, and for eligible school-aged participants, designates at least $500 to low-income public school students in grades 1-12 for their higher education expenses. CalKIDS will also provide an additional $500 to students who are identified as either foster or homeless. Enrollment is automatic, and families are not required to contribute.
The ScholarShare 529 Program is California’s Official College Savings Plan which offers families a diverse set of investment options, tax-deferred growth, and withdrawals free from state and federal taxes when funds are used for qualified higher education expenses. Opening a ScholarShare 529 account and linking it to a CalKIDS account can help families expand their growth potential of college savings.
If you have any questions about scholarship opportunities, please visit the Career Center information in our SMORE or contact Janet Ford in our Career Center.
📣 Google Classroom Guardian Emails Now Synced with Aeries
You may have already noticed—guardian email invitations in Google Classroom are now automatically synced with the Aeries database.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Only guardians listed as Educational Rights Holders in Aeries are invited to receive weekly email summaries from Google Classroom.
- Manual guardian entries are no longer allowed. The list is fully controlled by the Aeries sync and updates nightly.
- If a guardian isn’t receiving the invitation, please direct them to contact the school office to update their information in Aeries.
- Guardians who wish to stop receiving emails can simply delete the invitation.
Please do not advise them to click “unsubscribe,” as that will not stop Google from resending the invitation. - Guardian summaries include:
- Missing work
- Upcoming work
- Recent announcements, assignments, and questions
- A preview link to Google Classroom
- Note: Grades, comments, and student attachments are not included.
Confirm Your Info in Aeries
Complete Online Data Confirmation When You Have Time (TK-12)
Online data confirmation is now open in Aeries! Once completed, you’ll be able to log in to Aeries starting July 18, 2025, to view your child’s class schedule (grades 7–12) or teacher assignment (TK–6).
This process is also how we collect updated contact information, which is essential to keep your child safe in case of an emergency.
✅ Please make sure to complete the income information page—even if you think it doesn’t apply to you. It helps our schools receive additional funding to support students.
📞 Questions? Call your child’s school—we’re happy to help!

ID Cards
Everyone must have their ID card when on campus
Campus safety and security is our priority. Admin and Campus Security check that all students have their physical ID card in order to enter campus. If a student doesn't have their ID card upon entering campus, we will print them a new one and charge their student account $5 for the replacement. Students who have forgotten their ID card more than twice will be placed on contract.

Take Space to Pause
Have you ever lost it for no apparent reason? Do you ever feel overwhelmed and completely shut down? That's your stress response system going off too often.
Built-up emotions like anxiety, anger, and sadness are all connected to your stress response. These emotions and unhelpful thought patterns can build up until you hit a breaking point.
Learning to pause when things start to feel overwhelming can help you feel in control of your emotions.
