Safety Reminder E-bikes (New)
With more students choosing electric bikes and scooters to get to school, campus pathways and parking areas are busier than ever. To keep morning drop-offs smooth and everyone safe on foot, please keep the following guidelines in mind:
Gear up before you roll: Always wear a properly fitted helmet. Even at low speeds, a spill on concrete can cause serious injury.
Observe pedestrian zones: Foot traffic always has the right of way. Dismount and walk your wheels once you enter crowded courtyards, crosswalks, bus loading areas, and building entrances.
- Prohibited on sidewalks.
Watch your speed: Keep your speed under 10 mph near school property and match the flow of surrounding pedestrian traffic.
Park with consideration: Lock bikes and scooters upright to designated campus bike racks. Keep wheelchair ramps, stairways, doorways, and fire exits completely clear.
Stay alert and unplugged: Keep at least one ear free from headphones or earbuds while riding so you can hear horns, approaching vehicles, and crossing guards.
Ride solo: Most personal e-scooters and e-bikes are built for one person. Doubling up makes steering unstable and stops much harder.
Thank you for doing your part to protect our school community and keep campus paths safe for everyone!

Cafeteria Dining Experience Survey (Week 3)
Dear D117 Students, Staff, and Families:
At Community High School District 117, we are committed to providing students with a positive and enjoyable dining experience. As part of our ongoing effort to support the needs of our school community, we are partnering with Whitsons Culinary Group to gather feedback on our food service program.
We invite students, families, faculty, and staff to participate in a brief survey and share their experiences and perspectives. Your feedback will help us better understand what is working well and identify opportunities to further enhance our meal program.
Take the Survey: https://xmp.insight-surveys.com/s/fall-2026
Your input will help us:
• Assess satisfaction with our current foodservice program
• Enhance the meal experience for students, families, and staff
• Enhance the overall dining experience throughout our schools
The survey will be available from October 19 through November 6 and should take only a few minutes to complete. Responses will be collected by Whitsons and shared with our school administration as we work together to continuously improve the program.
We encourage everyone who participates in our school meal program to take part. Your feedback is important and greatly appreciated.
Thank you for helping us create the best possible dining experience for our school community.
Sincerely,
CHSD 117 Administration

Athletics
🦅🏈🏃🏻♂️YOUR LAKES EAGLES🏌🏻♂️⚽🦅
LCHS athletics experienced an exhilarating week across multiple programs, highlighted by the successful launch of the winter season for girls wrestling, competitive cheer, and competitive dance, alongside the girls volleyball team capturing the IHSA regional championship by defeating Prairie Ridge in straight sets after an opening-round victory over Cary Grove. Although the football team fought hard before falling to Wauconda in a memorable playoff run, the fall season reached a thrilling crescendo with stellar cross-country performances at the Woodstock North IHSA sectional.
Senior Hannah Salbilla and sophomore Madison Schrader punched their tickets to the IHSA state championship in Peoria for the girls cross-country team, while Cooper Summy delivered a phenomenal 2nd-place finish in the state's toughest 2A sectional to lead the boys program. With volleyball advancing to the sectional round and potential history making state championship appearances ahead, LCHS athletes continue to make extraordinary waves.
