Cell Phones and Electronic Devices
We will continue our focus this school year on reducing distractions in the school building and classrooms, including cell phone and electronic device use. These devices can be extremely distracting during instruction and can lead to behavior and safety issues in the building.
Students will have access to Chromebooks for educational purposes in classes throughout the day. Other electronic devices (i.e. cell phones, smart watches, wireless earbuds/airpods) may be used during the following times:
Before School
After School
Students need to have their personal electronic devices turned off and put away during the school day. Personal electronic devices are NOT permitted during the school day from 7:40-2:30. No electronic device brought by the student is the responsibility of Wilmington High School.
Parents have the opportunity to contact their child by contacting the front office. If you need to speak with your child, or get them a message, please call the front office at (937) 382-7716. Students may also ask for permission to use the office phone to contact their parents. We appreciate your support!

Attendance Reminders
Regular school attendance is one of the strongest predictors of student success in high school. When students are present consistently, they are more likely to stay on track academically, build positive relationships with teachers and peers, and be prepared for graduation, college, and careers.
Missing even a few days can quickly add up. Absences impact:
-
📘 Classroom learning and participation
-
📝 Grades, assignments, and assessments
-
🤝 Connection to school, teachers, and activities
-
🎯 Habits needed for college, careers, and the workforce
High school is a time when students begin building independence, but consistent routines and expectations around attendance still make a big difference. Please turn all doctor's notes in within 48 hours and communicate any absences with the school. Next month we will be starting our attendance incentive for attending Prom. We will continue to recognize students with perfect attendance on a weekly basis.
Cane Carryout Food Pantry
Wilmington High School has a Food Pantry done in partnership with the Free Store Food Bank. Any family with a student attending in the Wilmington City School District is eligible for this program. An interested family simply needs to complete the attached form!
We hope to curb food insecurity in our great community and continue to grow our students into community leaders!
