Reminder: The first early release of the school year is next Wednesday, September 14. Students will be dismissed one hour early @ 1:15 PM. Every Wednesday will be an early release. See the District Calendar for a complete list of early release dates and other important dates.

Volunteering- There are many opportunities to volunteer at Archer Glen. All volunteers will need to a) complete a background check and b) submit a proof of vaccination or receive approval for a vaccination exception.

• Background checks are completed online: Background Check Forms. Background checks may take up to 10 days to process.
• Proof of vaccination are submitted to the Middleton front office in person or via email (jmorales@sherwood.k12.or.us). Vaccination exception forms, if needed, can be found here: Medical Exception Request or Religious Exception Request. Completed exception forms are emailed to Steve Emmert at semmert@sherwood.k12.or.us. Exceptions may take up to 14 days to process.

Site Council- The Archer Glen Site Council has open positions for the 22-23 school year and we hope you will consider joining the team. Site Council Meetings are held bimonthly from 2:30-3:30. The purpose of the team is to provide feedback around school improvement goals and guide the school toward achieving these goals. PAC- Our parent volunteer group is a very important part of our school. Visit their Facebook page or website to see upcoming events and learn more about volunteer opportunities and other ways to get involved and be connected. In addition, feel free to reach out to the PAC volunteer coordinator, Lyndsey Brewer, at volunteer@archerglenpac.org.

You are invited to a PAX Night, Simple Strategies for Teaching Kids Behavior, at Hawks View Elementary on September 20th from 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm. Dinner and childcare will be provided. Please click PAX Night to register and view the flyer for more information.

Join the Archer Glen Choir! The choir is open to all 4th and 5th grade students. The choir will have a winter and spring concert, opportunities to perform at local events, and a fun outing at the end of the year. Click HERE or scan the QR code to register.

The $35 registration fee covers the cost of the choir t-shirt, music, and transportation to performances. Cash or checks can be given to the front office, or directly to Ms. Brannan. Please make checks out to Archer Glen.

The Archer Glen Fun Run will be held on Friday, September 30th. This event is one of our fall highlights, promoting wellness and school spirit, as well as helping to raise money for our school. Families are invited to attend and cheer on their student. Visitors will be asked to check in at one of the check in stations near the field. More information will be coming out in the coming weeks.

Arrival

Students should arrive to school between 7:45 and 7:55am. Classes begin at 7:55am. Students can use either the Main Entrance or the Activities Entrance to enter the building starting at 7:45am. Students arriving after 7:55am should use the Main Entrance.

Vehicle drop off is along the main parking lot sidewalk. Students should exit vehicles from the passenger side. If your child needs your assistance exiting the vehicle, please park your vehicle in a parking slot as not to disrupt the flow of traffic in the drop off lane. When exiting the parking lot, vehicles must only turn RIGHT. This also helps to keep traffic flowing. There is no student drop off in the bus lane. The bus lane must remain clear of all arrival traffic.

Breakfast service begins at 7:30am. Students eating breakfast will enter through the Activities Entrance starting at 7:30am. See the Nutrition Department webpage for pricing.

Dismissal

Students are dismissed at 2:15pm from exterior classroom doors. On early release Wednesdays, students are released at 1:15pm. K-1 students who are walking home need to be picked up by a chaperone. Grades 1-5 can be picked up in the care line, but Kindergarten students must be picked up from the exterior classroom door. Kindergarten students will not be released to the car line by themselves.
