CELEBRATIONS🎉
Academic Awards Invitations
“All students have the right to learn in a comfortable and enriching environment. Students can have different reasons why they feel uncomfortable working with biological specimens. In a world where hands-on models, technology, and dissection alternatives are becoming more readily available, there is absolutely no reason why educators cannot offer students dissection alternatives that promote high quality education, ecological sustainability, and empathy towards all life. At the end of the day, students will reach the same educational outcomes in a way allowing them voice and choice.”
New this week
Academic Awards Invitations
We are excited to begin recognizing the hard work of our students. Please be advised that the academic award invitations will be handed out to students by Friday, January 30th. These invitations are for students who will be receiving an award at our upcoming ceremony. For more information regarding the assembly please look under the "news worth repeating" in this newsletter.
OSHKOSH NORTH PRESENTS: HADESTOWN: TEEN EDITION
Families are invited to attend Oshkosh North High School’s winter musical, Hadestown: Teen Edition, presented February 12, 13, 14, and 15 at The Grand.
Hadestown follows two intertwining love stories—that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and immortal King Hades and Persephone—as audiences are taken on a journey to the underworld and back through a haunting retelling of a Greek tragedy. Inspired by classic American folk music and vintage New Orleans jazz, the musical explores powerful themes of industry versus nature, doubt versus faith, and fear versus love.
This intriguing and beautiful folk opera delivers a deeply resonant and hopeful theatrical experience and features the outstanding talents of Oshkosh North High School students. Don’t miss this special production as our students take the stage for their final musical at The Grand.
2026/2027 Scheduling Follow-Up
This week students received important scheduling information for the 2026-2027 school year during Homeroom. Students worked hard to complete their scheduling request forms, however with the snow day tomorrow we understand that some students may feel unprepared to input their requests next week.
Regardless of when your student inputs their requests into Infinite Campus, they are still able to attend a “scheduling help” Excel session Tuesday-Thursday next week with a counselor to ask any questions and/or update their course request forms. Students may find this Excel titled “Scheduling Help-All Grades” under Sarah Erickson in responsive scheduling. If students still have last minute questions or concerns, counselors will be available Friday, January 30th from 1st-3rd hour in the lower computer lab to assist students in making any last changes to their requests. If your student has questions about classes for next year their teachers are also a good resource to guide them in making choices for next year.
As a reminder, students will input their course requests into Infinite Campus during their English course on the following days:
Communities: Monday, January 26, 2026
Juniors: Tuesday, January 27, 2026
Sophomores: Wednesday, January 28, 2026
Freshmen: Thursday, January 29, 2026
For your convenience, there is a scheduling website, which explains the scheduling specifics for each grade level. Here is the link to the 2026-2027 North Scheduling website.

1st Annual 180° Awards
At Oshkosh North, we have begun a new awards ceremony to recognize our students who accomplish significant academic growth. The purpose is to recognize those students who have made a “180° turn” by showing at least 0.75 growth on their GPA since last Spring. We want these students to realize that their growth is worth celebrating and encourage them to continue down a positive path.
This year’s 180° Awards will be held on February 5, 2026 at 6:30pm in the Auditorium. During this event, we will celebrate these students’ progress by presenting awards, offering words of encouragement, and featuring a keynote speech from Trina Woldt, Director of Leadership Oshkosh, to inspire both students and families. Our goal is to reinforce their positive momentum and to emphasize that their hard work is recognized and valued
