If you are looking for community service hours and want to make an impact in the life of someone else, here is an option.
Least Of My Brethren helps individuals who have been homeless, transition off the streets and into small apartments. They are looking for individuals who would like to help on the day to physically move furniture and boxes in, set up the apartment and help the individual get situated in their new home.
This is an opportunity to work side-by-side with an individual who is trying to turn their life around and simply needs help. This is done every Saturday morning, typically between 8:00 AM and 10:30 AM. If you are interested, go to https://www.leastofmybrethren.org/ and click on volunteer. Please use a personal email for contact, not a school account, as external incoming messages to school accounts are often blocked.

LOST & FOUND

If you are missing an item, please check the Lost and Found. We have a rather large collection of water bottles; clothes; backpacks; etc. currently in the lost and found.

Senior Photo Reminder

Senior photos should be emailed to Mr. Margetts at jameson.margetts@ralstonschools.org by December 22, 2026. If you do not email a photo of your choice, your photo from registration or make-up picture day will be used. If you do not have a registration photo from Jack Martin Photography and you do not submit your own, your name will appear in the unpictured list. We do not use student ID photos. It is your responsibility to make sure you are pictured in your yearbook. Please make sure you find a photographer and schedule your senior photos early to prepare for this deadline. You do not have to use a professional photographer. Any headshot that follows the requirements is acceptable.

Senior photo requirements are as follows:

  1. Head and shoulder ONLY. Strapless photos are fine as long as it is clear the student is dressed. Students should otherwise follow general regard for the school dress code. No hands should be on the face.

  2. Portrait background. This may be any one solid color studio background. Outside photos will be allowed, but only if the background is relatively plain. The focus should be on your face!

  3. No pillars and no props, including animals.

  4. No selfies.

  5. Do not submit screenshots of photos. If you opt to send a screenshot or a screen capture, this will significantly reduce printing quality. Photos should be original with no watermark and no black or white borders.

  6. Photos are only accepted electronically.

  7. Photos need to be portrait not landscape.

* If you have not purchased your senior tribute yet, we still have space for a few more. Go to https://www.jostens.com/yearbooks/students-and-parents/yearbook-ads to get yours today!

Lucrative

Definition: capable of making a lot of money; profitable

Used in a sentence: Writing books isn't a particularly lucrative career, unless you're J.K. Rowling.

Book of the Month Book of the Month

It’s spooky season! And who’s spookier than Stephen King? If you’ve never read a book by the “King of Horror,” try starting with The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. Nine-year-old Trisha McFarland gets lost in the Appalachian woods during a family hiking trip. As she faces hunger, dehydration, and the feeling that a dangerous forest entity is stalking her, she relies on her Walkman to listen to Boston Red Sox games. Imagining conversations with her baseball hero, relief pitcher Tom Gordon, gives her the psychological strength and determination to survive the harrowing ordeal. Come check it out at the library!
