Welcome Back to Ten Oaks Middle School!

Dear Students, Parents, Guardians, and Silver Fox Community,

We are excited to welcome our Silver Foxes back on Wednesday, August 19, 2026! As we prepare to begin the 2026–2027 school year, I can honestly say this is the most excited I have ever been to welcome our students, families, and community back to Ten Oaks Middle School.

This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate Year 10 with the theme, "A Decade Rooted in Success." Together, we will honor the strong foundation that has made Ten Oaks a special place while continuing to grow and prepare every student for future success.

At Ten Oaks Middle School, we know that student success is built through a strong partnership between school and home. When educators, families, and students work together with a shared commitment, incredible things happen.

We ask our parents and guardians to support their child's success by helping them:

* Attend school every day ready to learn- preferred arrival is by 8:15 a.m.

* Complete assignments and give their best effort each day.

* Share their school experiences, successes, and challenges with you.

* Ask for help whenever they need it.

* Regularly check PowerSchool and Google Classroom to stay informed.

* Know that you believe in them and expect them to succeed.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We look forward to another outstanding year as we celebrate a decade of excellence and continue our commitment to Success, Nothing Less!

A Decade Rooted in Success

As many of you know, the 2026–2027 school year marks Ten Oaks Middle School’s 10th anniversary, and we have rallied around our theme, “A Decade Rooted in Success.”

Recently, Coach Marc Frechette, TOMS CTE teacher, reflected on the culture and sense of family that have been built at TOMS. It reminded him of a T-shirt connected to Columbine High School, where his best friend served as the head lacrosse coach.

Through that connection, Coach Frechette learned how deeply rooted Columbine is in its community. Rather than allowing tragedy to define them, the school honors the lives lost while continuing to draw strength from their memory and from one another. Many of Columbine’s current teachers, staff members, and administrators are themselves graduates—a powerful example of roots that run deep and continue to grow.

The T-shirt Mrs. Lennon is wearing today was given to her by Coach Frechette and was originally created for Columbine students. When he saw its message, he immediately thought of Ten Oaks Middle and the community we are building together.

Even in his relatively short time at TOMS, Coach Frechette said it has become clear how deeply our school cares about its students, staff, families, and community.

What has been cultivated at Ten Oaks goes far beyond a theme, a motto, or a social media post. It is genuine. It is felt throughout our school. It is who we are.

And just like strong roots, it continues to grow deeper and stronger with each passing year.

Ten years. Strong roots. One TOMS Family. A Decade Rooted in Success.

https://www.facebook.com/CarolinaForestBusOffice

While stops and times for most Horry County buses are fairly established, it is a good idea for parents to reach out to their local bus office at the beginning of the year to verify stop times and locations.

You can click the link, https://forms.gle/Fj3Hu5kLqcZLJWW58 for a form to request information on stops. The forms will be worked and you will be emailed back the stop bus number and times. This may speed up the process as phone lines will be busy.

Have questions about the Personalized Digital Learning Devices at Ten Oaks? Check out this information below on the Dell Latitudes our students use at Ten Oaks Middle. Distribution will begin after the first week of school.

All the following must occur for your student to receive a device:

All Technology fines must be paid in full; the $25 technology fee must be paid and we must have a parent/student permission form signed. Below is a detailed explanation of the difference between Tech fines and Tech fees. Technology Fines: Technology fines are charges that may have been added to your child’s account for any of the following incidents: Lost device, lost charger and or damage to the device.

Technology Fee: There is a $25 dollar technology fee that each student pays at the time of registration. It is beneficial for each student to pay this fee.

Students who pay the Technology Fee receive the following benefits:

● device replacement due to theft (requires formal police report) will cost an additional $25
