New Faces at Hagerman Middle and High School
We are excited to welcome new faces to Hagerman Middle and High School this year! Mr. Dan Bailey joins us as our high school math teacher and girls basketball coach. Mr. Alfred Cataño will be leading secondary PE, football, and assisting with eSports. Ms. Dulce Garcia joins our team as an ELA Educational Assistant, providing valuable support in the classroom.
We also celebrate staff members taking on new roles: Ms. Miranda Rains will be teaching business education, and Mr. James Richards will be teaching middle school social studies. Ms. Katrina Flores also moved over from the Elementary to continue working with the 6th graders in History and ELA and leading our Gifted class. Learning and Instruction
IXL
At Hagerman Middle School, we use IXL, an online learning program that provides personalized practice in math, language arts, science, and social studies, to support student learning. IXL helps us provide supplementary instruction and bridge skill gaps by meeting each student at their current level and challenging them to grow. This year, we’ve launched weekly leaderboard challenges to recognize students’ dedication and effort on the platform. Our first challenge concluded on August 19th, celebrating the Top 5 students who completed the most questions that week. We encourage you to ask your student to share their IXL progress with you and to set new goals each week as they continue to grow and succeed.

Tailgate Lunch
On Thursday, 8/21 we hosted a Welcome Back and Kick Off to Football Season Tailgate lunch for the Middle and High School students and staff. Ms. Dennis, Mr. Parker and Officer Childress grilled burgers and hot dogs, while other teachers and staff members helped serve up a great lunch out on the High School patio. Cookouts are a favorite of the students and we look forward to many more special lunches this year. Next one will be to celebrate Homecoming Week!
Check Your Grades
Students and parents are encouraged to keep a close eye on grades as the school year progresses. There are a couple of ways to do that. Students can use StudentVue and parents can access ParentVue. Access codes for both are available from your building secretaries.
Additionally, Progress Reports are sent home 4 times a year and Report Cards at the end of each 9 weeks.
Here's a handy reference calendar for those dates - distribution of printed grades will be a couple of days after these dates.

Parent Advisory Committee
Parent Advisory Committee – Get Involved!
We are excited to launch a Quarterly Parent Advisory Committee for our middle and high school families! This committee is a great way for parents to stay connected, share ideas, and support the ongoing goals and activities of our school. We invite all interested parents to join us for the first meeting on Wednesday, September 24 at 6:00 PM in the High School Commons. Your voice and partnership are vital in helping us continue to grow and succeed together.
