August 12, 2026 - NEWSLETTER
Lighthouse families,
Welcome to a new school year! We are getting ready for the first day of school on Monday, August 31, 2026. I hope that you were able to relax and make special memories this summer. We are thrilled to welcome our students and staff to a new year of learning at Lighthouse.
If you have questions, comments, or concerns, they are always welcome. Please reach out. We’re looking forward to a great year of learning at Lighthouse
See you soon!
Lisa Cisewski
Coordinator of Gifted Services and Lighthouse School
Meet and Greet is August 26, 4-5:30 p.m.
Students and their families are invited to attend a Meet and Greet event at Lighthouse on Wednesday, August 26, 4-5:30 p.m. Visit with the facilitators and other staff, check out the school and drop off school supplies.
If you are not able to attend and would like to connect with your child’s facilitator, please contact our Lighthouse office at 763-600-5200.
Bus riders
If your child rides the bus, bus stop information, pickup times and drop-off times are expected to be mailed the week of August 17. This information will also be available in Campus Parent Portal. Information about accessing Campus Parent Portal is available on the Technology Tools, Resources and Log Ins page.
If your child is a regular bus rider, please plan for them to ride the bus on the first day of school. This helps students learn the routine and allows our transportation team to make any needed adjustments early in the year.
Car riders
If your child will be dropped off and picked up, please be sure to park in the visitor spots near the parking lot. The lane directly in front of the school needs to remain open for buses.
Students may be dropped off any time 7:45-8:10 a.m. and picked up at the end of the day at 3 p.m. Students should be picked up no later than 3:15 p.m.
Extended Learning Days (ELD)
We will have six extended learning days this school year. A printed copy of the calendar will be mailed home. We also keep important dates updated on the Lighthouse website calendar and in the weekly newsletter. Facilitators will lay out expectations for students for each Extended Learning Day and check in with students the next school day.
