🌟 MVP of the Month: Suzanne Free 🌟

We’re proud to recognize Suzanne Free, one of our dedicated Early Childhood Itinerant Teachers, as our MVP of the Month! Suzanne’s nominators shared countless examples of how she consistently goes above and beyond to support students, classroom teams, and districts she serves.

Suzanne is known for her thoughtful problem-solving, creativity, and willingness to try a variety of strategies to ensure every child has the opportunity to thrive. During preschool MTSS meetings at Fairfield Local, staff repeatedly highlighted the meaningful supports Suzanne has provided and the insight she brings to every conversation. Her experience has been especially impactful this year as she’s served as a strong role model and collaborator for a new preschool teacher, helping support students with diverse learning needs.

Beyond her instructional expertise, Suzanne is a true relationship builder. She readily jumps in to support any student when there’s a need—whether they’re on her caseload or not—and finds engaging, hands-on ways to connect learning to the classroom. Most recently, she helped students deepen their understanding during shared reading by teaching basic sewing skills, giving them a meaningful, hands-on learning experience.

Suzanne’s kindness, collaboration, and commitment to children truly reflect our SOESC values: 🌟 Champion for Children, 🤝 Ambassador of the ESC, and 💚 Be Well. We are so grateful for the positive impact she makes every day on students, staff, and school communities as well as the impact she makes on her team at the SOESC. Thank you, Suzanne for your dedication and hard work!

French Onion Baked Brie Recipe

Instead of being covered in pastry, this baked Brie recipe lets the runny, tangy cheese take center stage, happily oozing into a baking dish along with a caramelized onion topping, which gives the whole thing French onion soup vibes You can make the onions a few days ahead of time Then just spread them onto a round of Brie or Camembert and pop it into the oven before serving with crostini or crackers
