Data is NOT the Destination
Team,
As we enter the final instructional week of 2025, this moment offers a natural pause to reflect, reset, and refocus. We are at the midpoint of the school year, and right now, we are surrounded by data; assessment data, progress monitoring data, observational data, attendance data, and the day-to-day evidence we see in our classrooms.
This is not accidental. Midyear data matters.
This data and its required analysis is not intended to overwhelm us, but to guide us. The data we are receiving now gives us clarity: what is working, where students are growing, and where we need to adjust instruction or supports. Data is not the destination; it is the compass. It helps us make informed decisions so that when we return in 2026, we are ready; focused, intentional, and aligned.
Thank you for the countless ways you show up for our students, from arrival, to instruction, to dismissal. Thank you for your professionalism, your collaboration, your flexibility, and your commitment to doing what’s best for kids, even when it’s hard.
Want to enter this week’s Weekly Words raffle? Here’s a fun, optional task: Share one “bright spot” from your classroom this month; something that made you smile, showed growth, or reminded you why you do this work. It can be a sentence, a photo, a quote from a student, or a quick reflection.
Mr. Walker, M.Ed.
Principal
From the Assistant Principal's Desk
Hi Team,
As we gear up for our last week with students in 2025, keep in mind that for some, perhaps many, of our students, a two-week break can bring as much anxiety as excitement. Let’s make this a week filled with joy, connection, and celebration, while staying grounded in the routines, procedures, and expectations that help students feel safe.
Most importantly, let’s continue to deliver awesome instruction, meaningful learning, and consistency for every student, the things that make Noble, Noble.

5 Days of School Before Winter Break
To celebrate the 10 days of school before Winter Break, your admin team is excited to share a little cheer each day!
It was 5 days before Winter Break, my admin gave to me…
Cool, delicious drinks to hydrate and energize you through the last Monday at Noble of 2025!
Thank you for everything you do to make Noble shine. Let the celebrations begin!
You've Been Socked!
In addition to gifts from admin, continuing tomorrow, we will have a "You've Been Socked!" initiative on campus! Shout-out to a secret staff member for getting this started! This activity is exclusively for the Noble Staff to celebrate and spread fun among colleagues. Someone will be "socked" again tomorrow, so be on the lookout!
What's Next? (Socking Guidelines)
Display the Sign: Place the "You've Been Socked!" sign that you will receive (the top part of this paper) clearly on your classroom door. This signals that you have already been selected.
Prepare the provided Stocking: Gather some special treats or small holiday surprises and use them to fill the provided empty stocking.
Continue the Surprise: Secretly deliver the filled stocking and this instruction paper to a staff member who has not been "socked" yet (i.e., they do not have the sign on their door).
Let's spread the holiday fun and cheer!
Action Item: Complete SEL Needs Screener by 12/19
We are introducing the Strengths and Needs Screener, a quick, 9-item universal tool designed to objectively assess student needs and strengths across various domains. The SNS efficiently captures needs in the areas of externalizing behavior and internalizing behavior. Crucially, it also identifies strengths in relationship and social skills, emotion regulation and coping skills, and executive functioning and self-management skills. We emphasize the importance of being as objective as possible when providing ratings, basing your support needs assessment on observable student behavior.
For a detailed breakdown of the assessment categories, please refer to the "Categories" tab within the tool. To ensure smooth administration, we ask that staff follow these four key steps: (1) Decide on the data setup (single Screening Data tab or separate teacher tabs); (2) Review the provided Screener Administration & Training Deck; (3) Dedicate protected time for completion; and (4) Generate the summary data using the CST2 Menu drop-down once all data is compiled in the Screening Data tab. For a more comprehensive understanding of universal screening, please view the Universal Screening training available in your CST2 professional learning menu and the overview video provided here: https://youtu.be/HnyFZ58PR5s.
Action Item: Supplementals at CH-UH & Noble
Supplemental positions are designed to provide students with enriching opportunities beyond the regular school day. These programs should promote student engagement, academic achievement, creativity, leadership, and personal growth through participation in clubs, activities, and athletics.
To ensure quality and consistency across all buildings, all staff running supplemental programs at

Communication Plan - Persons with Disabilities
The District has adopted a plan for communications with persons with disabilities, which is available at the following link: Communication Plan. The plan establishes procedures to ensure that the District's communications with persons with disabilities, including applicants, participants, members of the public, and companions with disabilities, are as effective as its communications with others.

The Acadience Assessment window opens Monday, January 5 and closes Friday, January 23. We will not assess students on the first day back, but testing will begin on Tuesday, January 6 to ensure all assessments are completed within the window.
Assessment Schedule:
Tuesday, January 6: Begin assessing Grades 2 and 3
Week of January 12: Assess Kindergarten and continue Grades 2 and 3
Friday, January 16 & Week of January 20: Assess Grade 1
The District Calendar shows that Cycle 1 continues until Friday, January 23. The Title Team will continue some intervention groups, though a few will need to end earlier to complete testing. Teacher-led interventions should continue through January 23.
Title Team Adjustments:
Bogus: Last day for Grades 2, 3, and 4 intervention groups – December 19
Bogus: Last day for Grade 1 intervention group – January 8
Salvatore/Holyk: Last day for 5th grade ELA groups – December 19

Additional Notes:
Grade 1: It would be helpful to provide a brief “nonsense word boot camp” prior to your assessment week. Erik and Megan have offered support with this review; let Ms. Bogus know if you would like their assistance.
A heads-up that the second round of grade-level MTSS meetings will be held the first week of February.
Action Item: Interim Preparation in TBTs
For Grades 3-5, Interim Testing begins December 15 - January 23. From discussions, it appears as though teams are waiting until January to administer the interims. Please utilize time in TBTs this week and next to schedule your Interims, using the spreadsheet below and review the Before, During, and After + FAQ document prepared by C&I.
Fall Interim Analysis - District-Wide
On behalf of the C&I team, we are sharing the complete Q1 interim assessment analysis document for Math (3rd through Algebra), ELA (4th through ELA II), and Science (5th, 8th, and Biology).
C&I recognizes that this analysis is being distributed well after the Q1 assessments were administered, but we believe this comprehensive, district-level performance data remains beneficial for reflection and informing your current instructional strategies. Please use this information to pinpoint specific areas of strength and weakness within your classes.
C&I is committed to providing more timely data moving forward; their plan is to conduct and release a similar district-level analysis as quickly as possible following the completion of the Q2 interim assessments to ensure the information is actionable for the remainder of the school year.
