We are very excited about our updated website! It went live TODAY, April 11th at 4pm!

We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the refreshed design and set new bookmarks for your browsing convenience. You can also download the new Conroe ISD app in your device’s app store and begin customizing the pages and news you want to see.

Additionally, in the coming weeks, you will receive information about our new mass communication system called Alerts. Be on the lookout for texts from 98900 when the new system is implemented. Emails and texts may have a slightly different look, but they’ll still contain all of the great information we share. These transitions are part of a bigger initiative to bring efficiency to the District’s communication platforms, and there are more exciting updates to come!

We want to thank our Librarian, Mrs. Leah Sheth, and her amazing assistant, Ms. Heather Rodriguez, for spending countless hours making sure everything was added correctly. It looks amazing! When you see them, please extend a HUGE THANK YOU!

2025 - 2026 Registration Intentions and Class Placement 2025 - 2026 Registration Intentions and Class Placement

zoom_out_map

As we look ahead to the 2025 - 2026 school year, we would like to know about your intentions for returning to Glen Loch Elementary for students currently in grades pre-k through 3rd grade. Your response will help us as we plan for next year. Please fill out and submit the form below.

Proper student placement is a top priority at Glen Loch Elementary. Student class placement for the 2025 - 2026 school year will be decided by a committee made up of your child’s current teachers, our principal, assistant principals, counselor, and occasionally, the special education staff. We work very hard to match children’s learning styles and personalities with next year’s teachers. We examine the strengths and needs of each child as we strive to place each student in the environment in which he/she will be most successful.

Our placement committee will begin meeting soon. We continue to work on placement multiple times throughout the summer. Because of this, families will be notified of their child’s teachers the Friday before school begins in August. Once your child’s placement is complete, it is not possible to make changes, as this compromises the dynamics of the entire class. We work very hard to create just the right environment for each student.

If you have any concerns about your child’s placement that you would like the committee to consider, please share your concerns through the Google Form link below. Please do not email your concerns. This Google Form will be open until Friday, April 18th. This is a firm deadline as placement decisions will have already started. If a concern has been expressed in previous years, and you feel that it should still be considered, please share the information through the Google Form to ensure it is communicated to the placement committee. Please do not request specific teachers or make requests to have friends placed in the same class. Requests of this nature will not be considered. Class composition and learning/personality match are our top priority as we strive for the correct placement for each child.

We appreciate your help and support with this very important endeavor and request that you notify friends and neighbors who may overlook this information.

Have a great day!

Proper Footwear for P.E. Proper Footwear for P.E.

Gator families,

Your child's safety remains a top priority at Glen Loch throughout the school day. Proper footwear is essential for physical activity. Shoes like flip-flops, open-toed shoes, crocs (even in sports mode), sandals, boots and high heels used for physical activity could result in injuries due to the foot being allowed to move excessively in the shoe or come out of the shoe.

Students can absolutely bring a pair of tennis shoes to change into for P.E. and/or recess.

Thank you so much for helping us keep your Gators safe and healthy!

Happy, Healthy Kids Counselor Tips:

Parents, thank you for playing a key role in helping your child navigate through life's ups and downs. Below are some tips if your child is feeling anxious or experiencing negative emotions.

Open Communication

  • Encourage talking about feelings at home: Create a safe space for your child to express their emotions. Let them know that feeling anxious is normal, and it’s okay to talk about what’s bothering them.
  • Listen without judgment: Actively listen to your child’s concerns without immediately trying to "fix" things. This helps them feel heard and validated.

Encourage Healthy Lifestyle Habits

  • Regular physical activity: Exercise is a great stress reliever! Encourage activities like walking, playing outside, or joining a sport
  • Sleep hygiene: Consistent bedtime routines help, as lack of sleep can cause anxious feelings
  • Balanced diet: Eating balanced meals and drinking enough water can improve mood and energy levels

Attendance Matters! Attendance Matters!

Did You Know?

  • Starting in preschool and kindergarten, too many absences can cause a child to fall behind in school.
  • Missing 10% or about 2 days of school each month over the course of a school year can make it harder to learn to read.
  • Students can still fall behind if they miss one or two days every few weeks.
  • Being late to school or leaving school early lead to poor attendance.
  • Absences and tardiness can affect the whole classroom if the teacher has to slow down learning to help children catch up.

We LOVE Our Volunteers! We LOVE Our Volunteers!

We truly appreciate the spirit and dedication of our volunteers! Your willingness to contribute your time and skills creates a positive impact that resonates throughout our entire school community. Whether you're looking to lend a hand in organizing events, support our classrooms and teachers, or share your expertise in a specific area, your contribution will be invaluable.

If you're inspired to contribute and be a part of our school community on another level, we would love to have you on board! The first step to volunteer is to go through the CISD volunteer check by clicking here. This check is good for one school year and must be done in July for the upcoming school year. You can keep an eye out for volunteer opportunities in the Fall! Let's work together to create a positive impact and strengthen our school community.

NEW Arrival Procedure for Car Line NEW Arrival Procedure for Car Line

***New Traffic Flow Procedure Effective: Wednesday, November 6th***

To address the current traffic congestion during morning arrival times, we have implemented a new procedure designed to streamline vehicle movement and reduce delays. Our primary concern is the issue of vehicles turning right into the car rider line and not allowing left-turn traffic to merge, resulting in a traffic bottleneck. We no longer will allow left hand turns into the school from vehicles coming from the Tanglebrush side. This is similar to our afternoon car rider line procedure.

Just a few tips:

  • When entering, you will enter through the Glen Loch driveway, not the church driveway. We have students that walk in the morning and it is not safe to have you loop around like we do in the afternoons.
  • When exiting, buses have specific routes they have to drive, so they may take a left hand turn. All other vehicles will need to take a right hand turn out of Glen Loch onto Glen Loch Drive.
  • When cutting through neighborhoods, please be sure to be respectful and adhere to the posted speed limit signs. This is for the safety of those children who walk to or from school and all other families..
  • Be courteous to fellow drivers and allow smooth merging where necessary.

By following these guidelines, we hope to create a more pleasant and efficient morning routine for everyone. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in helping us improve traffic flow and ensure the safety and well-being of our community.

Thank you for your continued support!
