Spirit Week - Oct 26 - 30

Our SMS student leadership has planned an October spirit week for next week.

Monday, October 26th - Cozy Day (Pjs, sweatpants/sweatsuits)

Tuesday, October 27th -"Pair Day" This is a two person dress up idea. Think things that go together like PB&Jam, Salt&Pepper, Bacon&Eggs, Romeo&Juliet, Travis&Taylor. One person dresses as one and then the other person will dress up as the other.

Wednesday, October 28th-Crazy hair/Wigs Day Pretty self-explanatory, let your creativity fly! Wacky hair encouraged.

Thursday, October 29th-Camo/Lumberjack Break out your best hunting camo, or your fanciest flannel

Friday, October 30th - Costumes OR Grade colour - Costumes should follow the guidelines. If you are not wearing a costume, support your grade by wearing your class colour

School Breakfast and Lunch Program

Good nutrition is a key indicator for improved academic achievement and Stonybrook provides breakfast and lunch items, as well as fresh fruit throughout the day, for students every day in partnership with Soup's On and we are happy to provide this service for all students who may need it.

Our students are reminded that these services should not replace items that may already be available for them at home or in their lunch. An example of inappropriate use of this service would be accessing additional snack items because a student doesn't like what's in their lunch, or prefers the "snacks" provided by the school to what is already available to the student. Students who have forgotten their lunch at home are encouraged to be in contact with their parent guardian at home if it may be possible to bring a lunch to school - however, a lunch is always available to any student who needs it, no questions asked.

Families are asked to have discussions at home with their students about the school meal programs and what is the right level of access for your student.

Families, please avoid sending large dollar bill amounts ($10.00 bills, 20.00 bills etc) for canteen purchases. There is a spending cap of ~ $5.00 at the canteen. The canteen does not have the capacity to "break" large bills or create change for them. Please send smaller dollar amounts ($5.00 bills, toonies, loonies) to school with your child if you plan to have them access the canteen to supplement their lunch
