Principal's Message
Good evening, Yowell Families!
This is Mrs. Fiscus with your weekly update!
We have a BIG week ahead at Yowell Elementary — it’s Teacher Appreciation Week!
I have the privilege of working alongside some of the most dedicated and caring professionals every single day. Our teachers pour their hearts into their work. They lie awake at night thinking about how to create engaging lessons and support every child’s growth, academically and behaviorally. Their commitment doesn’t stop at 4 p.m. — evenings and weekends are often filled with planning, grading, and brainstorming how to reach each and every student.
So this week, I encourage you to join me in saying thank you. A quick email, a ClassDojo message, or even a handwritten note can go a long way in showing your appreciation. Let’s make sure our amazing teachers feel the love!
We are also continuing SOL testing this week.
4th and 5th graders will test on Tuesday and Friday.
3rd grade will test on Wednesday.
Please make sure your student gets a good night's sleep, arrives on time, and is ready to stay for the full day.

Rising 6th Grade Instrument Selection Night - Tuesday, May 13th @ 6:00 pm at CMS
CMS and FTB Bands will have their Rising 6th Grade Instrument Selection Night on Tuesday, May 13th at 6:00 pm in the CMS Cafeteria. We are inviting any student interested in band to attend, even if they did not select band on their schedule; they can still attend, and changes can be made. Please add this to your school calendar and the weekly robo-call messages so families are aware and can plan for it. Thank you very much!

Monday: Cereal w/ Graham Crackers/Chicken tenders w/ Dinner Roll
Tuesday: Sweet Swirl Roll & Fruit/Beef Taco w/ Cheese
Wednesday: Breakfast Pizza & Fruit/Hot Dog on Bun
Thursday: French Toast Sticks & Fruit/Spaghetti w/ Meat Sauce
Friday: Chicken Biscuit & Fruit/Fish Melt Sandwich

Transportation Information
In an effort to assist schools and parents with current information about bus changes, transportation has added a new item on their website called: Transportation - Morning Update. The direct link can be found here. Also, this is the direct link to transportation.
Parents of students Pre-K through Grade 3 are expected to meet their children at the bus stop. Failure to do so will result in the child(ren) being returned to school. Should you choose to allow your child(ren) to be dropped off without supervision in the afternoon, please fill out and return this document.
We will be posting departure times for buses each day to assist parents with receiving their child from the bus stop. Please check this document each afternoon.
