Dear RCP Families,

Big thanks to PTO, HPH and all the parent volunteers who showered the RCP staff with appreciation. We feel incredibly supported by our families.

Tie-Dyeing RCP T-Shirts on Tuesday, May 13th: By today almost all of our students and staff have tied and labeled their RCP t-shirt in preparation for dyeing. On Tuesday all RCP students and staff are scheduled to dye their shirts in the garden area. Students will wear gloves and an apron, but please make sure your student wears clothes that if stained accidentally will be ok. Thanks in advance to all the parent volunteers who are assisting us with this whole school community building event.

RCP Talent Show on Wednesday, May 21st: We had over 50 students tryout for this year’s talent show to be held at our monthly assemblies on Wednesday, May 21st. Amazing to see all the talent we have in our community.

Students Stepping Up: Coming out of Earth Week some of our 3rd grader students are stepping up to challenge our community to do better about picking up our trash. I applaud their commitment and leadership in our community. Please join their efforts to do better by our school, community and world. See their messages below.

New Principal Hiring Update: Community interview panelists Chau Vo, Laura McVicar, Karen Barry-Gazzo, Alison Taylor, Jesse Lien and Huynh Pool spent four and half hours interviewing three candidates this past Tuesday. Based on their recommendations, two finalists will be selected to conduct additional performance tasks and interview with senior leadership and the superintendent in the next couple weeks. We anticipate a final decision and announcement by the end of May. Stay tuned.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of our RCP mothers!

“Dear Mr. Bacon

Thank you for running our school. We think that we all should pitch in on picking up the trash. …. If we all help, our school will be cleaner. Please tell all classes and staff to help clean up the trash. From Coen and Abe.”

“Please pick up your trash. Our class has been picking up other people’s trash for about 16 weeks. Now I am tired of it, so could you please, please pick up your trash on the playground?”
