Helping Each Child Soar!
Thank You...
As we approach Thanksgiving and spend the next two weeks focusing on gratitude, I want to express my gratitude for all of the ways parents, staff, and students come together to help each other and make our school such an wonderful place to learn and grow. Following are the top five on my gratitude list:
- Smiles, high fives, hugs, and kind greetings each day from our amazing students!
-All of our fifth grade safeties who continue to show up with a smile each day as they greet students off buses, monitor our cafeteria and hallways, give up their own recesses to help supervise our kindergartners, and help students reflect on their behaviors and become problem solvers. We have an incredible, dedicated group of safeties this year!
-Mrs. Mulligan for continuing to lead our safety team, Mrs. Long for leading our Student Council, and Mrs. Goodloe for leading our student run credit union. Oh, and thank you to all of our students who give up their recess to be part of these programs.
- All of the parent volunteers who make events like our Fall Festival, Disability Awareness Day, and field trips to places like Henry Ford Museum possible.
-All of the students of the week for being excellent examples and showing other people that they matter every single day.

What it is...
Gratitude means being aware of and thankful for the good things your life.
Why it matters...
Research shows that gratitude is the best predictor of a person's well-being. People who posses this character strength have more energy and happiness. Studies also show that the more one practices gratitude, the more grateful he/she becomes!
