JUNE'23UPDATES A Newsletter Publication by Children's Wishing Well

June Holiday Adventures

As the June holiday comes to an end, we reflect on the exciting learning journeys our children participated in and the valuable life skills they learnt through workshops. We would like to extend our gratitude to the corporates and individuals who collaborated with us, making this holiday a fulfilling and memorable one. We eagerly look forward to planning our next holiday programme, where new adventures and opportunities await!

Exploring Habourfront MRT

All aboard for an adventure!

The children went on a learning journey to Habourfront MRT where they participated in the SMRT's Adopt-a-Station programme. From platform exploration to storytelling, the children had an enjoyable time immersing themselves in this unique experience. It was a great opportunity to gain insights on public transportation in Singapore.

Our Inspiring Volunteer; Joan.

Meet Joan, she began volunteering with Children's Wishing Well as a monthly food delivery volunteer a few years back and now continues to volunteer as she shares her passion for photography with children.

Recently, Joan organized an engaging and insightful photography workshop for the children. The workshop was an introduction of composition techniques and basic photo editing skills. She also guided them on how to capture captivating images through framing, lighting, and angles.

She has come a long way volunteering with us and we are truly inspired by her dedication to continue serving the community.

Our youth's First Independent FRESH

You might already know that in our FRESH program, students are usually matched with a volunteer. However, our youth recently embarked on their first independent FRESH journey, without the assistance of volunteers.

Through FRESH, we have always believed that our beneficiaries would discover the fundamentals of nutrition and acquire valuable skills like smart budgeting. For these older group of beneficiaries, it was exciting to see them embark of this journey more independently; signalling that they are now moving towards continuing these skills outside of Children's Wishing Well.

We are so heartened that they did a great job on their own!
