Scott Middle School

Lately Mr. Vint's 6th grade Science class has been learning about the weather, climate, factors that affect the weather and climate here in Coatesville and in other parts of the world. As well as keeping a close eye on the Artemis 2 mission that recently journeyed around the moon, photographing the dark side of the moon and recently returning to Earth. Students have had the opportunity to do research and learn about how the Artemis program got started and see what it has accomplished to date. We will continue to discuss the program and its accomplishments as well as its future plans to send astronauts back to the lunar surface in 2028.

Students and families enjoyed a wonderful night of Bingo, prizes and education on Thursday night. Mrs. D'Angelo shared information about staying safe online, correctly using AI, and copyright in between games of Bingo. Thank you for a great night!

April's PBIS focus is attendance. Students that arrive to school on time and attend school each day, are being put in a weekly raffle for prizes.

Congratulations to last week's winners: Donald Damiano, Zayden Edwards, Tre'Zaun Fosque, Savannah Lane, Amelia Mitchell, Logan Mullen, Samantha Ortiz-Malo, Casey Rodriguez Vargas, and Tia Tooles.

Online orders must be placed by 11am Monday, April 13.

PSSA testing starts next week, and will be completely online. Teachers and students have been busy preparing and practicing. Our technology department has been working to make sure all devices are ready and we have the bandwidth to support the students all on devices at the same time.

The final step is to make sure we have all the devices in our classrooms and ready to go. We are asking students to bring their district issued laptops to school starting this week along with their chargers. We will be holding them at school to make sure they are charged and ready for next week.

Please help your student locate their device and charger and support them in bringing it to school this week. Thank you for your help!
