Over Spring Break, 50 Steele students and 20 chaperones/parents took an amazing European trip to Switzerland, France, Italy, Monaco, and Spain. From the mountain tops of the Alps all the way along the coast of the Mediterranean sea, they explored many unique, local towns. Our students have grown as global citizens through experiencing local customs, trying new foods, interacting with residents in each country, and practicing communicating basic words and phrases in 4 different languages! They made new friends, laughed a lot, and ultimately built a stronger Steele community. Check out our album with more photos here!

We can't wait to do it again next year! PS- It's not too late to sign up for the Spring Break 2027 Japan trip: tinyurl.com/adamsjapan2027. This is not an NISD Sponsored event.

Online Enrollment for 2026-2027 School Year Opens April 1 Online Enrollment for 2026-2027 School Year Opens April 1

Mark your calendars! Enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year opens at 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 1. To help prepare appropriate staffing, we strongly encourage all families of returning students to complete enrollment for next year before the end of the current school year.

Enrollment is an annual requirement and doesn't roll over from the previous school year, but for returning families, the process is an easy three-step completion. The process is handled through Home Access Center via a guardian’s account, which results in previous enrollment information being completed.

Enrolling your child as early as possible is one way you can help your campus and the district prepare for next school year. Please visit www.nisdtx.org/enroll to learn more!

Remember Gun Safety This Holiday Season Remember Gun Safety This Holiday Season

The storage of guns is vital to safety, especially around children. Texas law now requires schools to distribute information about gun safety, as firearms are the leading cause of suicide in Texas. Restricting access to guns is critical in reducing acts of violence, whether as self-harm or towards others. Acts of mass violence and interpersonal violence often end in suicide. For information about safe gun storage, view this website.

Reminder of Inclement Weather Procedures Reminder of Inclement Weather Procedures

As we continue through a period of the school year where inclement weather affecting the school day becomes more possible, we'd like to remind families of our procedures for inclement weather and potential school closings.

One of the most important aspects of this process is that if no announcement is made, schools are operating on their regular schedules. When possible, Northwest ISD will attempt to communicate any school closure due to inclement conditions the day before school, though the district's goal is to make a decision no later than 5 a.m. If schools close, communication would arrive in a variety of methods, such as through ParentSquare, a phone call, social media and the district website.

District leaders and transportation drivers personally drive roads across all major areas of Northwest ISD to monitor conditions, as safe roadways are the most important aspect of inclement weather decisions. Additionally, district leaders meet with regional weather-response services for their guidance. To reiterate, if no announcement is made, schools will proceed on their regular schedules. Plan for school unless you hear otherwise directly from the district, as we will directly let you know of any change to normal operations.

For more information about inclement weather and school closings procedures, please read these frequently asked questions.

See the two attachments below for additional NISD information and details.

  • Students can not access their cell phone from 8:15 am - 3:40 pm.
