The Young Way

Honored to have Sam and Luke Brown lead the Pledge of Allegiance and represent Young Elementary at tonight's D.I.S.D. School Board Meeting.

Our Pre-K class celebrated Earth Day with songs and discussions about how we can take care of our planet. We learned about protecting the Earth and its precious resources. Then, we got our hands dirty by planting black-eyed peas in our school garden – we can’t wait to watch them grow!

Finally, the kids enjoyed coloring their own Earth, showing how much they love our planet.

There's nothing like a classic game of Duck, Duck, Goose to bring everyone together! Our 2nd-grade students had an absolute blast outside, laughing, running, and enjoying the sunshine. So much joy in one circle!

Texas STAAR Camp-Day 3

Today was all about geometry, data and tables! Kiddos worked hard to earn punches for their punch card and the opportunity to go outside for the camp game. All three classes had a great day, but it was the Funstaders that came out on top again! Way to go, guys!

Fourth grade wrapped up STAAR Camp on Tuesday with EVERYONE competing in the camp game. We answered multiplication questions to earn points and then "Bowled with Bessie" to see who could get the weighted ball to land closest to Bessie.

With a little help from Mrs. Warner in the bonus round, the Warriors came out as the day's winner!

Students worked all week to earn punches on their STAAR Punch Card. Once they filled a card, they entered it into the raffle bucket and began working on a new card! These Youngsters were the lucky winners!
