DECA Backpack Buddies

  • This is DECA’s 16th year planning and implementing the DECA Backpack Buddies community service project. Frankfort DECA has committed to feeding 133 Frankfort elementary and middle school students. In order to feed 133 students for 34 weeks, Frankfort DECA is needing to raise $14,696.50 to purchase non-perishable, easy-to-make snacks for weekend Buddy Bags.

Since August 2011, DECA Backpack Buddies has raised $190,266.79 through financial and product donations. As of May 14, 2026, 60,239 weekend Buddy Bags have been distributed to 1,907 unique Frankfort students. The success of the community service project is the result of all of the individuals, churches, grants, and businesses who donate resources each year.

DECA members’ weekend menus were randomly selected to be used this year. Shout out to the following members for hand selecting each item for the week’s Buddy Bag:

    Week 1:

We would like to extend a special thank you to our 2026-2027 DECA Backpack Buddies’ Do

    nors:
