Counselor's Corner
Well, our scholars have been doing quite well for the first two weeks of school; however, we need them to be able to do their BEST! Their best can't be achieved without a little assistance from our parents and guardians. Don't forget to help them do their very best by making sure that they get their rest by going to bed at an appropriate time, eating healthier meals and snacks, spending extra time studying, and arriving to school on time and prepared. All of these things, as well as a few words of encouragement each morning, will help our scholars to always do their very best! GO
This week, we are preparing students for the launch of our Student Success Skills (SSS) program. Throughout the year, students will learn strategies that strengthen their confidence, decision-making, relationships, self-management, and academic success. Our goal is to help students understand how their choices, mindset, and actions influence their growth and achievement, while building the skills and resilience they need to reach their goals both in and out of the classroom.
We are proud to bring back our partnership with Chris180, one of the area's premiere mental health, child welfare and family service organizations, in empowering families and helping children overcome difficulties they may face. If you feel that your child may benefit from a deeper therapeutic interaction, please contact me for more information regarding their free services for our scholars.
The Counseling Dept. and the Attendance Team would like to remind you the importance of having an exemplary attendance record. Absences and tardiness can affect the whole classroom if the teacher has to slow down learning to help children catch up. Attending school regularly helps children feel better about school—and themselves. Start building this habit so they learn right away that going to school on time, every day is important. Eventually good attendance will be a skill that will help them succeed in high school, college, and beyond.
Clicking here will take you to my webpage, which provides information about the counseling services at Liberty Point Elementary, as well as some resources you can use at home. Please check the webpage often as it is updated periodically to include new resources and information gathered throughout the school year.
If you would like to contact me, please feel free to send an email or call me directly at (470)254-9657.
"Here Comes The Bus App" is a free, easy-to-use website and app that enables you to see the location of your child’s school bus on a smartphone, tablet, or personal computer. This way, you know when the bus is near your stop, so you can send your child out at just the right time. No more worrying about whether your child has missed the bus! If you have questions or concerns regarding your child's assigned bus or bus stop, please contact FCS Transportation Department at 470-254-6060 OR contact our supervisor:
