CCA Participates in National School Choice Week CCA Participates in National School Choice Week

zoom_out_map

Last week, January 26-February 1, 2025, was National School Choice week. CCA juniors and seniors attended the school choice rally at the capitol on Wednesday, January 29th. School choice options include all forms of education, from traditional public schools to public charter schools, public magnet schools, private schools, online learning, homeschooling, and microschooling. Over 500 students from all over the state attended the event to meet with legislators and share what school choice means to them. The event highlighted many of our state’s educational options and the opportunities they offer to families. Student and parent speakers were highlighted. Students were able to learn about the state capitol, and legislators heard from students, families and educators about the importance of school choice!

CCA's January Character Trait: Kindness

The January character trait of the month at CCA is kindness. I asked three students what kindness means to them. Isabella in 6th grade said, “Kindness is when someone is nice to you.” William from 1st grade said, “Being nice to someone.” Easton said, “Kindness is when someone is being nice to you or complimenting you on your haircut.” 1 Peter 3:8-9 says, “Finally, all of you be like-minded and sympathetic, love one another, and be compassionate and humble, not paying back evil for evil or insult for insult but, on the contrary, giving a blessing, since you were called for this, so that you may inherit a blessing.” -Jacob

Devotion Corner

Parents, Grandparents, and Staff, we thought you might like this devotion from “Student Devos: Kindness,” which is based off of the Bible verse John 1:14, “So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.” Click on this link to read more https://studentdevos.com/tag/kindness --Jacob

CCA Chapel ⛪

On Friday morning the worship team led students in the singing of three songs. They sang FREE!, Fake Love, and Champion. Worship leader, Hannah, was missing due to FBLA. Chapel was led by the 6th graders and Mr. Neal. They told us the beautiful story of Queen Esther. The Book of Esther tells the story celebrated at Purim of how Queen Esther and her cousin Mordecai saved the Jewish people from the plot of the wicked Haman, who was advisor to the Persian King Ahasuerus and who tried to have the Jews destroyed. We ended chapel with the school song. Great job 6th grade!

Survey Says:

This week we surveyed 105 CCA students and teachers to find out who they think will win the super bowl, the Chiefs or Eagles? The Chiefs won with 100 votes to the Eagles 5 votes. Fun fact about the KC Chiefs, they are one of the nine teams in the NFL to win more than 15 regular season games. They have already made history by winning back-to-back super bowls in 2023 & 2024 and making the super bowl again in 2025. Will they be the only team ever to 3-peat? We’ll find out Sunday!
