’Twas the Night Before Winter Break

’Twas the night before winter break, and all through our school,

The halls held sweet echoes of learning so cool.
From pre-tests and planning to lessons each day,
Our students kept growing in every new way.

Clubs met with excitement—Robotics, chorus, Early Act,
Leadership bloomed as students stepped up to lead and give back.
Positive referrals, NEHS shining bright,
Classrooms alive with curiosity and light.

Student, Parent, Teacher, and Staff of the Month too,
We paused to say thank you for all that you do.
From Boosterthon fun to our Library Challenge so grand,
Families and learning walked hand in hand.

A new principal’s journey—what a year it’s been!
With gardening, field trips, and moments to grin.
Awards and Contributions, Thanksgiving we shared,
A community grateful, connected, and cared.

SIC meetings, leadership roles, learning once more—
Because learning, at Coosa, is always our core.
So as winter break nears and we pause to reflect,
I’m thankful for each of you—truly, sincerely, respectfully.

Now rest, recharge, and enjoy time with cheer,
We’ll see you refreshed for a brand-new year.
Happy Winter Break to our Coosa family—

Beginning in January 2026, Beaufort County Schools will use ParentSquare for all school and district communications. This means:

● All messages from Coosa Elementary will arrive through ParentSquare starting in January.

● We will no longer use BrightArrow for school messages.

Why this matters for you:

● ParentSquare gives you more control: choose how and how often you receive messages (text, email, app notifications).

● You can message your child(ren)’s teachers and other school staff directly through the app.

IMPORTANT DETAIL: Please make sure you sign up using the same email address you have provided in PowerSchool in order to connect your account to Coosa/your student(s). If you no longer check the email you provided in PowerSchool and would like to change it, please send the new email address to Mrs. Tyson at nichelle.mcewen-tyson@beaufort.k12.sc.us.

All Extended Learning After School Program community sites (Lady's Island Baptist) will be closed from December 15, 2025-January 9, 2026. Students will take their normal (Friday) transportation - bus or car - from December 15 - 19 and January 7-9. Services will resume on January 12, 2026.

Our school library's Family and Library Book Challenge can be completed multiple times throughout the year and can be restarted each time a student completes the challenge. If you have any questions or need a copy of the form, then please email Ms. Kabel at Ashley.Kabel@beaufort.k12.sc.us.
