Dragon News Week 2
September 8th-11th!
It was wonderful to see our Franklin Dragons back walking the halls this week! Students were excited to reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and settle into their classrooms.
The first few weeks of school are all about learning routines, getting acclimated to a new grade level, and settling back into school routines. We appreciate everyone’s patience and flexibility as we learn and practice together.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we train staff and families on our important dismissal procedures. Car pick-up may take a little longer during these first few days as everyone becomes familiar with the routines. We appreciate your understanding as we work to make dismissal as safe and efficient as possible.

Dismissal Information Sheet came home in student bags during week 1. Please return the completed sheet to school as soon as possible if you have not already done so.
Our teachers and staff refer to these dismissal sheets every day to make sure we know how each of our 450 students is going home and, most importantly, that every student is dismissed safely each day. Thank you for support. 😀
Tips for Car Rider Pro!
Please remember your lane assignment.
Lane Assignments: It is very important that you stay in your lane assignment!
Every family has an assigned pick-up lane.
- 🔴Left Lane (School Side)
- Always use for Red Dot tags
- ⚫Right Lane (Playground Side)
- Always use for Black Dot tags
Guidelines for a Smooth Dismissal
• Hang your tag: Display your car rider tag on your rearview mirror and enter your assigned lane.
• New families: All families new to Franklin who use car pickup will receive a tag.
• Multi-year use: Your tag remains valid throughout your child's entire time at Franklin.
• Return tag: Return the tag when your youngest child completes 5th grade.
• Compatibility: ABECC/Kindergarten tags do NOT work for Franklin pickup.
• Extra tags: Additional tags are available for purchase for $3 each (cash only).
Students have access to water-filling stations throughout the school day. During lunch, students may purchase milk, refill their water bottles, or help themselves to a cup of water. No DRAGON will go thirsty!
Please keep these tips in mind when purchasing a water bottle for the school year: Students are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle to school each day. Please choose a leak-proof bottle that is an appropriate size (12-20 oz) for your child and can easily fit in their backpack or lunchbox side pocket. Please label the bottle with your child’s first and last name. Water bottles should contain water only.
