Together, We Make Mission Stronger!
Dear IDEA Mission Families,
As we close out another busy week, I want to take a moment to thank you for being such an important part of our school community. Our Fall Festival was a wonderful reminder of what makes IDEA Mission so special! Seeing our families come together, watching our talented cheerleaders and our very first folklórico group perform, and hearing the laughter of our students reminded me that a school is so much more than a place where children come to learn. It is a community where relationships are built, memories are made, and children feel a sense of belonging.
I also want to acknowledge that some of our grade levels experienced staffing changes this past week. I recognize that these changes may have been difficult for some of our students and families, especially when children have developed strong relationships with their teachers. Please know that we understand these concerns and are working closely with the affected grade levels to make the transition as smooth as possible. Our responsibility is to ensure that every student continues to receive excellent instruction, feels supported, and experiences as much stability and consistency as possible.
As your principal, I believe deeply in the power of education to change lives. I believe that every child deserves to be challenged, supported, and celebrated. Not every student will reach every goal at the same time, but every student is capable of growing. Sometimes that growth happens in big leaps, and sometimes it happens in small steps. What matters is that we never stop believing in their potential or helping them move forward.
Our commitment to your children remains the same, regardless of the challenges or changes we face. We will continue to hold high expectations, build meaningful relationships, and do everything we can to help every child succeed.
Thank you for trusting us with your children. Thank you for your patience, your partnership, and your continued support. I am incredibly proud of our IDEA Mission community and grateful that we get to do this important work together.

Student Assistance Forms and Counseling Support
A friendly reminder that the Student Assistance Form is the official process for referring students to see a counselor. Please continue using this form whenever a student needs counseling support.
Ms. Briseño, our College Prep counselor, is no longer working with us. In the meantime, Ms. Ashley Sanchez, our Academy counselor, will support College Prep students who require services from a counselor until we hire a replacement.
Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and continued commitment to supporting our students!
Want to Meet with a Licensed Mental Health Professional (not from IDEA)?
Would you like to take advantage of our TCHATT program? TCHATT stands for Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine.
It is a free, school-based mental health program that connects Texas students with licensed mental health professionals through telehealth services.
TCHATT can help students experiencing anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, or other emotional and mental health concerns. If you think your child would benefit, please reach out to our School Counselor, Ashley Sanchez (Garza). Her email address is Ashley.Garza@idepaublicschools.org
💛 Kindness Begins at Home!
Families play an important role in helping children learn kindness, empathy, and respect. Small actions at home—using kind words, practicing gratitude, listening, helping others, and celebrating positive choices—can make a BIG difference! 🌟
Together, we can help our students build positive relationships and spread kindness at home, school, and in our community. 💙
Kind homes create brighter futures! ❤️
Hope Squad Section
Our HOPE Squad (Hold On, Persuade, Empower) is a group of students trained to recognize when their peers may be struggling emotionally and connect them with trusted adults who can help. Through kindness, friendship, and mental health awareness, our HOPE Squad helps create a school community where every student feels supported, valued, and never alone.
Our Special Programs section provides families with information on how to request an evaluation if they have concerns about their child's development or learning. We want every family to know that support is available and that we are here to help every child succeed!
Our Testing Updates section keeps families informed about upcoming assessments and important testing dates. Please take a moment to mark any dates that apply to your child on your calendar and encourage them to always do their very best. Your encouragement and support make a big difference!
Beanstack Program Section for Kinder to 5th Grade Only (formerly AR)
Phoenix Parents! 💙💛🔥
We are excited to share that this year, our Phoenix scholars will be using Beanstack as our reading program to encourage and track reading!
Instead of AR/Renaissance Reading, students will now focus on logging the minutes they spend reading in Beanstack. Our goal is to build a lifelong love of reading while recognizing and celebrating our scholars’ progress along the way! 🌟
📖 Through Beanstack, students will:
- Log their reading minutes
- Participate in fun reading challenges
- Track their reading progress
- Work toward our school-wide reading goals
- Celebrate milestones and accomplishments! 🎉
Our teachers will also be supporting and encouraging scholars as they work toward their reading goals.
We are excited to begin this new reading journey with our Phoenix families! Together, we can help our scholars read more, grow more, and become lifelong readers! 📚🔥
Let’s get reading, Phoenix! 🚀📖
At IDEA Mission, we love recognizing students who make positive choices, demonstrate outstanding behavior, and exemplify our core values! Students earn PBIS points that they can redeem for fun prizes and rewards. Visit this section to learn more about how we celebrate and encourage positive behavior across our campus!
As the weather begins to cool down, your IDEA Mission Nurses would like to share a few important Health & Wellness reminders to help keep our Phoenix scholars healthy, safe, and ready to learn!
