St. Patrick Catholic School
Principal's Newsletter - Sept 24th, 2026
Thank you to all of the grandparents and special friends who were able to join us on Friday for Mass.
September 24, 2026
In the spirit of our Catholic faith and our commitment to serving others, students in every grade from kindergarten through eighth grade here at school participate in service-learning projects. These opportunities allow our students to put their faith into action by sharing their time, talents, and compassion with others. Through these acts of service, our students not only make a positive difference in the lives of others but also experience the joy that comes from giving of themselves.
Service learning is much more than a school project; it is an important part of our mission to help students and families grow in mind, body, and spirit. Through serving others, our students and families develop lasting qualities such as kindness, compassion, empathy, responsibility, and gratitude. They learn that even small acts of kindness can have a meaningful impact and that each of us has a role to play in making our community a better place.
With service learning in mind, we ask that each family commit to volunteering 10 hours or helping the school in a way that aligns with your schedule and abilities. We understand that families are busy, and volunteering can look different for everyone. Whether it is helping at an event, supporting classroom activities, sharing a skill, making donations to classroom events, or assisting in another capacity, every contribution matters and is greatly appreciated.
Each week, when the opportunity presents itself, I would like to thank parents who volunteered or helped the school in a way that aligns with your schedule and abilities. I would like to thank the following parents for helping with our Leader In Me student interviews: Melanie Knipp, Erica Schultz, Paige Emerson, Erin and Mike Youngblut, Danica Wilcox, Ellen and Jason Luders, Natalie and DJ Deery, and Rachel Mueller.
Blessings,
Mr. Wiebers

Uniform Approved Apparel Store
As the weather has begun to cool off this week, now is the perfect time to start thinking about uniform approved apparel for the winter months ahead. Our apparel store at Iowa Sports Supply is open for ordering year round. All purchases and order pick ups are handled directly through ISS.
Save Hy-Vee Receipts!
Please collect your Hy-Vee receipts and drop them off at the school or parish office. These receipts help us earn money for school improvements, but only those dated June 1st or later will count for this school year.
Thank you for helping us grow and improve—one receipt at a time!
Volunteer at the Food Bank!
This year food bank volunteer nights will fall on the first Thursday of the month (except May which I will follow up on as it gets closer due to the 7/8 musical) 6-7:30. Anyone kindergarten and older is able to participate!
Due to ongoing construction at the food bank, the number of volunteers allowed in one time slot is limited and strictly enforced so I will need people to email me at erinyoungblut@gmail.com to sign up.
