Thanks to the support of our community and the passage of Issue 5, Lorain City Schools is keeping its commitment to students and families by restoring several programs and positions that were previously slated for reduction.

Because of your investment in our schools, Lorain City Schools will continue offering:

  • All-Day Preschool, providing our youngest learners with a strong foundation for future success.
  • Dedicated Elementary School Counselors in each of our eight traditional elementary schools, ensuring students continue to receive critical academic, social, and emotional support.
  • Middle School Dance Programming, one of the arts programs most valued by students and families.
  • Seven Kindergarten Paraprofessionals, allowing every kindergarten classroom to have additional support for students and teachers.
  • Student Clubs, Committees, and Supplemental Programs, helping students stay connected, engaged, and involved beyond the classroom.

These restorations represent more than programs and positions. They represent opportunities, relationships, support systems, and experiences that help our students thrive.

Thank you for your trust, your partnership, and your commitment to the future of Lorain City Schools. Together, we are delivering on the promises we made to our community and continuing to invest in the success of every Titan.

No changes to elementary start or dismissal times.

βœ… Middle Schools
First period will now begin at 8:50 a.m.
Dismissal will remain at 3:30 p.m.

Instructional periods will increase from 50 to 55 minutes. As a result, the LHS school day will begin at 7:07 a.m. and end at 2:30 p.m.
