Celebrating a Season of Progress and Pride
As we enter this season of reflection and celebration, I want to take a moment to recognize the tremendous accomplishments of our Beal City community throughout the fall. The first months of the school year have been filled with pride, progress, and a continued commitment to excellence from our students, staff, families, and community.
Our fall athletic season was nothing short of outstanding. From the energy under the Friday night lights to the grit shown on the volleyball court, the determination displayed by our cross country runners, and the enthusiasm of our Sideline Cheer team, our student-athletes demonstrated skill, sportsmanship, and heart. Their achievements have brought excitement and unity to our district, and we are incredibly proud of every team and coach.
Academically, our students continue to excel. This year’s State assessment results—M-STEP, PSAT, and SAT—show that Beal City Public Schools outperformed both the State average and the Gratiot-Isabella RESD in all tested subjects. These results reflect the dedication of our educators, the hard work of our students, and the support of our families who continue to prioritize education. We will continue building on this momentum as the year progresses.
Our bond project work also continues to move forward in meaningful ways. Three newly constructed high school classrooms are on track to be completed and ready for students and staff to move into over winter break. At the elementary school, construction of the new STEM Lab Classroom is well underway, with an anticipated completion in April 2026. Work has also begun on the track and football field. Due to seasonal conditions, progress on the athletic complex will pause for the winter, but construction will resume as soon as spring weather allows.
I am incredibly grateful for the ongoing support of our families and community members who make these advancements possible. Together, we are creating learning environments and experiences that will benefit Aggies for years to come.
On behalf of Beal City Public Schools, I wish you a joyful and restful holiday season. Thank you for your continued partnership and commitment to our students.
Sincerely,
Jason Wolf, Superintendent
District-Wide Highlights
New Signs Bring a Fresh Look to Beal City
Beal City is looking a little brighter this month thanks to the installation of our brand-new community signs. These updated signs not only enhance the appearance of our town but also proudly reflect the spirit of pride and unity that defines Beal City.
This project would not have been possible without the generous support of community members and local businesses who donated their time, funds, and materials. Their contributions helped ensure the signs were designed, built, and installed with care and quality.
New Security System Enhances School Safety
Last month, our district implemented the Raptor Visitor Management System as part of our continued commitment to student and staff safety. The Raptor system helps us ensure that all visitors entering our buildings are properly screened and accounted for.
When guests arrive, they will be asked to present a valid ID. The system quickly scans the ID and checks it against a national database to help identify anyone who may pose a safety concern. Once cleared, visitors receive a printed badge to wear while in the building.
This process takes only a few seconds and provides an added layer of protection for our students. We appreciate the community's patience and cooperation as we use this updated system. Together, we are creating a safer environment for everyone who walk through our doors.
Welcoming New Team Members to Beal City Public Schools
Beal City Public Schools is excited to welcome two new members to our team!
Joining the Board of Education is Brooke Bechtel, a Beal City graduate as well as a lifelong community member and parent. Brooke is deeply committed to supporting student growth and success. With a professional background in student-centered advocacy, mental health, and policy development, Brooke brings valuable skills and a fresh perspective to our district. We look forward to her contributions in fostering an environment where all students can thrive.
We are also pleased to announce Korey Garrett as our new Maintenance and Transportation Director. Korey is also a Beal City graduate and lifelong community member and parent who brings extensive experience in maintenance and leadership. Korey has ran his own business, Garrett's Garage, since 2011, which his son now runs. His expertise in facilities management, vehicle maintenance, and leadership has been invaluable to our schools, ensuring that our buildings and buses remain safe, efficient, and fully prepared to support learning every day.
Please join us in welcoming Brooke and Korey to the Beal City family!

2nd Grade Thanksgiving Program
This year’s 2nd Grade Thanksgiving Program was a heart-warming success, bringing smiles, laughter, and plenty of holiday spirit to the Beal City community. Our talented young performers took the stage with confidence, sharing a creative retelling of the first Thanksgiving through songs, spoken parts, and charming costumes.
Families packed the auditorium to cheer on the students, whose hard work during rehearsals truly shone through. Teachers and staff reported that the students showed tremendous teamwork, enthusiasm, and pride in their performance.
A special thank-you goes out to the 2nd grade teachers, support staff, and parent volunteers who helped make the production such a memorable event. What a wonderful way to kick off the season of gratitude!

Seniors Explore Future Opportunities at College Fair
On October 16, our senior class attended a college fair held on the campus of Central Michigan University (CMU). The event brought together representatives from more than 40 colleges, universities, and military branches, giving students the chance to explore a wide range of post-graduation options.
Students had the opportunity to visit individual booths, ask questions, and gather valuable admissions information directly from college and military representatives. The experience provided an exciting glimpse into future possibilities as seniors begin making plans for life after graduation.
Honoring the Flag: Civics Students Learn Proper Flag Retirement
Students in Mrs. Davis' Civics class recently participated in a hands-on lesson about the proper retirement of the National and State flags. Under the guidance of their teacher and Maintenance and Transportation Director, Korey Garrett, students learned the respectful procedures for retiring a worn or damaged flag in accordance with the U.S. Flag Code. The experience emphasized the importance of patriotism, respect, and civic responsibility. By taking part in the ceremony, students gained a deeper appreciation for the symbols and values the flag represents.
