Welcome Back!
August/September Newsletter
Dear CCES Bear Cubs and Families,
We are so excited to begin another school year together! Each year brings fresh opportunities to learn, grow, and strengthen the connections that make our school community so special. This year, our theme is “Growing Purposeful Partnerships” and it will be at the heart of everything we do. Whether it’s through collaboration in the classroom, engagement with families, or teamwork with one another, we know that true success comes when we all work together with purpose.
One of our favorite parts of the day is standing at the front of the school to greet students as they arrive. Those smiles, high-fives, and waves set the tone for a positive and welcoming start to each day. We can’t wait to continue this tradition and start every morning with joy and connection starting with the very first day of school.
We also want you to know that we are here to support you every step of the way. If you ever have a question, need clarification, or simply want to connect, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Our doors are always open, and we truly value the partnership we share with each of you. We are committed to being supportive leaders, strong advocates for students, and coming alongside you and your student in their educational journey. And of course, we plan to have a whole lot of fun along the way!
Thank you for entrusting us with the incredible privilege of working with your children. Together, let’s make this year one filled with growth, laughter, and meaningful partnerships.
With excitement,
Mr. Glynn and Mrs. Evans

This year, our district-wide theme is Growing Purposeful Partnerships. Partnerships exist all throughout a district. Whether it's between schools and families, teachers and students, staff and community members, and among colleagues working together. Each of these relationships play an important role in creating the strong foundation our students need to thrive. As a district, we are committed to making these partnerships intentional and meaningful, ensuring that every connection supports the growth, success, and well-being of our students. We are excited to focus on this purposeful work together throughout the year.
New This Year – Morning Recess!
We’re excited to launch a new initiative this school year: Morning Recess for all students! Starting Tuesday, September 2nd, students will arrive at school, go through the front doors, drop their backpacks in their lockers, and head directly outside for some active play. Parents who plan to walk their child to their lockers can still do so! We ask that after they have dropped their belongings in their lockers, students go outside independently. Morning recess will run until 8:00–8:10 a.m. each day.
Research shows that unstructured play in the morning helps students improve focus, build social connections, and develop self-regulation skills. Physical activity before the school day not only supports healthy bodies, but also primes the brain for learning by reducing stress and increasing readiness to engage.
We believe this is a great way for students to start their day with movement, fresh air, and a positive mindset!

School Supplies
There is no need to be waiting anxiously for a school supply list. We provide all school supplies that your child(ren) will need to be successful here at school! If you would like to help support your child's classroom, please be on the look out for personalized teacher wish lists. Teachers will share their wish lists (if they chose to create one) as the start of the year gets closer.
The only items that we ask for your child(ren) to bring are:
*Backpack
*Lunchbox
*Water bottle
*Appropriate weather clothing
If any of these items are a hardship for your family, please reach out to our office staff!

PAWS Parade
What is a PAWS Parade?
Our PAWS Parade is a special celebration where students, staff, and parents line the hallways to cheer for students who have earned a PAWS Award for being Safe, Respectful, and Responsible. Students can be recognized by their classroom teacher, allied arts teachers, and *new this year* their principals! It’s a joyful way to honor positive choices and encourage our whole school community to live by our PAWS expectations.
Spirit Fridays
Nurse News
A completed (signed by physician and parent) medication permission form is required for all students needing medication at school, including inhalers and EpiPen's. Attached is a form you can print at home, fill out, and send back in. Or you can get a form from our office!
Parent Drop Off *Same procedure as last year*
We have a new procedure for parent drop off this school year. Our buses will go back to using the bus loop in the morning, which means NO vehicles should be in the bus loop from 7:30-8:00am.
If you plan to drop your child off and have them walk into the building on their own, please use our "quick drop off" loop to do so.
If you plan to walk your child into the building, please use our parking lot to park and go inside.
We will have staff outside to help assist with this new transition for the first few days of school.
Please do not drop off students prior to 7:30. We do not have staff available to monitor students.
Parent Pick Up *Same procedure as last year*
In the afternoon only, the bus loop is open to parents for parent pick up. You can use either the bus loop or the "quick drop off loop" to pick up your students. Students will come outside around 2:15pm and will walk to your vehicle. If you plan to come inside to pick up a student, please use our parking lot to park.
Sometimes, buses will be parked along the outer side of the bus loop. Please do not block them in.
We will have staff available to help this process run smoothly!
Students can be picked up between 2:15-2:40. If they are not picked up before 2:40, we will have one of our staff give you a call and they will remain in the office.
