Tiger Tracks December 2025
Akron Middle School
December 2025
A Message from our Principal
Dear Families,
As we begin the second marking period, I want to take a moment to emphasize the importance of students staying focused on their schoolwork. Your partnership plays a vital role in helping your child succeed, and I truly appreciate your ongoing support. Together, we can ensure that every student is prepared to do their best each day.
To help your child stay on track, please continue to support them in the following ways:
-
Review your child’s homework each evening.
-
Check the parent portal regularly to monitor their grades.
-
Encourage your child to seek extra help during 9th period.
-
Make sure your child is in school on a regular basis.
In addition, if your child rides the bus to school, please remind them of our morning procedures. Students should only get off the bus before 8:00 a.m. if they are eating breakfast at school. Those who are eating breakfast must report directly to the cafeteria. Students who are not eating breakfast should remain on the bus until 8:00 a.m.
Thank you for your continued cooperation and support. By working together, we can ensure a positive and productive second marking period for your child.
Sincerely,
Mr. Caprio

Guest Speaker in Sixth Grade!
Miss Raya Kenney, a young historian and founder of the WWII Women's Memorial Foundation, visited with Akron Middle School sixth graders on Tuesday to tell her story and her inspiration that began at just 10 years old. Raya's vision was for a monument to Rosie the Riveter - and all the women who worked and volunteered for the war effort - right there on the National Mall in Washington, DC. And after a years-long effort, a bill to authorize the monument received bipartisan support from the House and the Senate and was signed into law in 2022 by President Biden. Her work is far from done as she works to raise the funds to build it! Our students were able to ask her questions about her story, women in the war effort, and the progress toward the building of the monument! For more information about Miss Kenney and her dream to honor these women, visit https://wwiiwomenmemorial.org/. #WWIIWomensMemorial
