🚨Emergency Preparedness for Families of Youth with Disabilities 🚨 🚨Emergency Preparedness for Families of Youth with Disabilities 🚨

A family of four sits together in a living room, discussing an emergency plan. The father, wearing glasses and a light blue shirt, points at a map on the table. The mother, in a blue floral blouse, sits next to their daughter, who is smiling. Their son, wearing glasses and a blue shirt, listens attentively. The table is covered with emergency preparedness supplies, including bottled water, canned food, a flashlight, a first-aid kit, batteries, and a backpack filled with essential items. Two more emergency backpacks are visible on the couch behind them.

Emergencies can happen anytime—wildfires, earthquakes, power outages, and more. Planning ahead helps keep your child safe.

This two-part training series will help you
think about your child’s unique needs and create a plan that works for your family.

What You’ll Learn:

✔ What emergencies happen in Oregon
✔ How to plan for your child’s mobility, communication, sensory, or medical needs

✔ How to plan for emergencies using the Integrated Supports Star framework
✔ What to pack in an emergency kit (beyond the basics!)
✔ How to make a step-by-step emergency plan

✔ Where to find help and resources in your community

Sessions will be provided in English with Spanish interpretation. Please request other language supports at least 14 days before the event. We will do our best to accommodate.
