August 21-5th grade breakfast on back playground 7:45am (5th grade only-info below)

Nurse Dawn will be at Tremont from 1-4pm for any parent who has medicine that they need to drop off to her. Please come to the main door and ring the buzzer.

Dear Tremont Families,

We know that many families are excited and preparing for the start of the school year, especially to meet their child’s teacher, see their classroom, and begin feeling connected to the school community.

Due to the unexpected weather and power outages, we will not hold a formal “Meet the Teacher” evening before students begin school on Monday. While we are disappointed that we cannot welcome everyone into the building as originally planned, our teachers are looking forward to connecting with you and your child in another way.

While many of you have already heard from your child’s classroom teacher, our staff plans to reconnect with you all before the first day. Please be on the lookout for a brief communication from your child’s classroom teacher and intervention specialist.

We appreciate your patience and flexibility as we navigate this unexpected start to the school year. We cannot wait to welcome our students back into the building on Monday and officially begin the year together!

Arrival Time

The school day STARTS at 8:15am. This means your child should be in his or her classroom at 8:15am because that is when class begins.

7:45am Drop Off Begins in the Tremont Lot and the Former Senior Center (Back) Lot

Students in grades K-5 can be dropped off on the side of the building facing the Public Library by the awning that says "Tremont Elementary School" or in the back parking lot which was formerly the Senior Center.

Students in grades 1, 3, 4 and 5 will wait in the gym to be dismissed to classrooms. (Please note this is a change)

Students in 2nd grade will wait in the media center to be dismissed to classrooms. (Please note this is a change)

Kindergarten students who arrived between 7:45am and 8:00am will be escorted to the K playground at 8:00am.

8:00am Drop of Continues but expands

At 8am students can be dropped off and come in through the Tremont Road doors, the door facing the Public Library, the Back Lot or the Kindergarten Playground. Students in grades 1, 2, 4 and 5 will wait in the gym to be dismissed to their classrooms. Students in grade 3 will wait in the media center to be dismissed to classrooms.

8:10am Students walk to classrooms (Kids will begin walking out of the gym at about 8:09am)

At 8:10am students will be dismissed from the gym or media center to walk to their classrooms. STUDENTS SHOULD BE IN THEIR CLASSROOMS AT 8:15AM.

Please be prepared to share your child's dismissal plan with his or her classroom teacher at the beginning of the school year.

Please note that we will be working to improve our dismissal procedures throughout the school year, so please be patient as we begin to make adjustments to increase safety during this time of day.

Upper Arlington elementary school students will need to keep cellphones and smartwatches secured in a locker, backpack, purse or approved storage system throughout the instructional day, including lunch periods, recess and class transitions.

Please contact the school office for additional information, including possible exceptions for students with documented medical and special education needs.

As a reminder students are not permitted to wear hats at school. After they enter school in the morning, hats need to be placed in lockers or backpacks. We think this will make "hat day" for spirit day even more fun.

K–4 students: $75 each
5th-grade students: $125 each

• Special fifth-grade activities and keepsakes

Have multiple students? Please add the appropriate fee to your cart separately for each child.

A quick headphone reminder: Headphones are not included in the fee. Please send your student with USB-C-compatible headphones for use with their school iPad.

Parent Information Night: Elementary Gifted Services

Elementary parents are invited to attend one of two Elementary Gifted Services Parent Information Nights in the coming weeks. These sessions are designed to help answer questions regarding gifted services, including gifted qualifications, gifted clusters and Written Education Plans (WEPs). The same presentation will be provided on both nights, so please select the date that works best for you.

• Monday, August 31: Jones Middle School auditorium, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.

• Wednesday, September 2: Hastings Middle School auditorium, 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
