STM SCOOP

Enjoy your Thanksgiving long weekend!
Hello families,
I hope everyone has a peaceful and fun Thanksgiving long weekend. It is a great time to reset with your family, friends, and loved ones as we thank God for everything we are blessed with.
We hope everyone is super excited about the staff vs students hockey/ringette games this Thursday to celebrate all our students learning and reflecting on Truth and Reconciliation and completing the Orange Jersey Project. It will be a busy and FUN event for the whole school. We encourage all students to wear their favourite jersey that day! Our school council is hosting a canteen (poster below) and will be selling treats and drinks for the students. So remind them to bring cash. This is a closed school event, we will not be allowing parents/guardians into the event.
I want to thank all the staff willing to share their gifts and talents by participating on ice and playing in Orange Shirt Hockey/Ringette Event. Thank you!

We will be having our first lockdown drill on Wednesday. The teachers will go over the expectations before this drill. Constable Frey will be leading the drill. These drills are invaluable to make sure our students and staff are safe in case of emergency.
🍪 A Sweet Success for the Ben Stelter Fund!
What an incredible success Jayden’s Ben Stelter Bake Sale was! 🎉 Thanks to the incredible generosity of our STM community, $730 was raised for the Ben Stelter Fund!
This cause is especially close to Jayden and her family’s hearts, as Ben Stelter was Jayden’s cousin. 💙 It truly takes a community to make a difference, and we are so lucky to have the best students, families, and staff at STM!
Thank you to everyone who baked, bought, donated, volunteered, and helped make the bake sale such a tremendous success. Every dollar makes a difference!
And Jayden isn’t finished yet! We can’t wait to see what creative fundraising idea she comes up with next as she continues working toward her goal. 🧁💪
There’s also an exciting incentive for participating schools! Each school is entered into a draw based on the money raised, with the winning school receiving an incredible visit from Connor McDavid! 🏒
Way to go, Jayden, and thank you, STM, for showing what it means to be a community that cares! Knights helping Knights! 💙
Quebec Voyage Parent Meeting - Friday October 16, 2026 at 6:00 pm in the Music Room.
It’s going to be a spirited October at STM! Here’s what’s coming up:
🏒 Jersey Day – Wednesday, October 15
Get ready to show off your team spirit and wear your favourite jersey! 🏒👕 This day will tie in with Orange Shirt Hockey Game on October 15. It also happens to be an Oilers home game so wearing an Oilers Jerseys can help bring orange jerseys to the crowd of students. The Knight Spirit Team will be making their rounds throughout the school to count participation points. They will also be stopping by to take a quick photo for the yearbook. 📸
🎃 Halloween Costume Contest – Thursday, October 30
Get those costumes ready! We’ll be holding a Halloween Costume Contest on October 30. I will pick up prizes for the best costume in gr7, gr8 and gr9.
👻🎪 Halloween Carnival of Giving!
We’re also bringing some Halloween fun to lunchtime while supporting a great cause! The Knight Spirit Team is creating their own carnival games to raise money for Catholic Social Services – Sign of Hope Campaign. 💜 Last few weeks of October during lunch, Knight Spirit Team members will visit both the common area and gym with our carnival games and collect toonies to play. The best part? EVERYONE IS A WINNER!
If you haven't yet, please complete your student verification. The poster is below.
God Bless,
Kevin Myskiw
