📚✨ Discover the Power of Family Literacy! ✨📚
This spring, families at Berkmar High School unlocked new confidence and opportunities through FREE English literacy classes, made possible by a partnership between the Gwinnett County Public Library and the GCPS International Newcomers Center. 💙
✅ Over 20 families participated
✅ Parents learned practical English for work, school, and daily life
✅ Classes were welcoming, supportive, and family‑centered
💬 Here’s what parents had to say:
🌟 Juana shared that she joined to learn English and found the classes interesting, engaging, and truly helpful.
🌟 Veronica enrolled to improve her job skills and support her children—and now feels more confident writing and communicating in English.
🌟 Eloisa wanted to feel confident speaking with others and says the classes helped her communicate and speak with confidence.
🌟 Angelica described the program as excellent and said she learned many new skills that help her every day.
🌟 Melby praised the caring teachers, saying they take time to help every student—she joined to improve both her work life and daily life.
🌟 Maricela said the classes boosted her confidence to speak English and fit perfectly into her work schedule.
✨ These classes are more than lessons—they’re life‑changing.
When parents build literacy skills, they gain confidence, open doors to new opportunities, and strengthen their families.
📣 Thinking about taking literacy classes? Don’t wait.
You belong in these classes—and your future self will thank you.
Classes will start again in August and follow the GCPS calendar.
Stay tuned for the registration date [TBA]
