Family Survey
Talley Street will take the new Georgia School Climate Survey this year. Each parent or guardian is invited to take the family version to answer questions about the current school(s) your child or children attend. If two or more children attend the same school, please only complete one survey for that school.
The survey measures your thoughts on how the school engages with families. Answers are not linked to names in any way. When typing answers, please do not give names or information that you don’t want to share with this school. Data will be shared with school leaders to help improve the school and will be published on the GaDOE website.
Please help by sharing your honest opinion on this 22-question survey. To take the survey, please click this link.
If you have any questions about the survey, please contact me at bheaton@csdecatur.net.
Sincerely,
Billy

Talley Fifth Grade Talent Show - Nukumori Service Project (January 23, 6 pm)
Mark your calendars for Talley's first fifth-grade talent show on Friday, January 23, from 6-8 p.m.! In addition to showcasing the talents of our incredible fifth-graders, the talent show is an opportunity for our school community to help families facing homelessness. Nukumori House will be collecting items from the following list at the door, and will donate all of the items to the Decatur Cooperative Ministry, which helps families facing homelessness settle into safe, stable homes and build healthy lives. All Talley students and their families are welcome to attend. We hope to see you there!
Girls on the Run: COACHES NEEDED!
We are in desperate need of coaches! Currently, we may need to cancel one or both teams this season if we do not get more volunteers.
Girls on the Run is looking for parents/caregivers/community members to coach at Talley Street for the Spring 2026 Season! If you are interested in becoming a coach/mentor for our participants, please see this flyer and visit girlsontherunga.com/coach to learn more about the kind of commitment it takes to be a coach, and to register to coach. Practice is on M/W or T/Th from 2:30-4:00 pm from February 9-April 28. No practice when there is no school or on Early Release days. Your Talley student is guaranteed a spot on the team if you volunteer to coach. We must have at least 3 coaches per team in order to host teams at Talley. We need you! Email programs@girlsontherunga.org for questions about GOTR or coaching, and nbundschu@csdecatur.net for questions about coaching at Talley. For more information about GOTR as a program, go to https://www.girlsontherunga.org/3rd-5th-grade-program-details.

Amistad Friendship Dance
Amistad is excited to host our annual Amistad Friendship Dance on Tuesday, February 10th at Ebster Gym from 5:00-6:30. The event is free for all Talley students to attend. Please use the link to register students in advance. Pre-registered students will receive a wristband at school on Monday, February 9th. The wristband allows entry to the dance. Students without a wristband can be registered by parents at the door. Food and drink sales are cash only - bring small bills! We also encourage carpooling as the event is a busy one.
Parent volunteers are vital to making this event a success and only parents signed up to volunteer will be allowed to attend. Sign up to volunteer here!
Thanks,
The House of Amistad

The data collected will help determine the School Climate Star Ratings for the 2026-27 school year, which will enable schools to improve or build upon their successes.
