One week ago, our Board of Directors unanimously approved an updated Vision, Mission, Core Values, and Strategic Plan for Sussex Academy. I would like to publicly thank each of the 40+ members of the Core Planning Committee for their leadership and dedication throughout this yearlong process. It was truly inspirational to be part of this journey alongside our student, staff, parent, and Board leaders.

As we begin this next chapter together at Sussex Academy, I would like to invite all families reading this message to explore our Strategic Plan on the website by clicking here and reviewing the attached documents that will guide our work into the future. Our Strategic Plan, Core Values, and Mission will now serve as the foundation for our work in the years ahead as we strive to realize our vision of becoming the premier K–12 school system in the State of Delaware.

As always, thank you for your partnership in education. This Strategic Plan is not just a roadmap. It is a commitment to excellence, growth, and increased opportunities for every Seahawk. Together, we will soar higher than ever before!

Weather & Facility Update for Athletics

Field availability is currently being evaluated through the end of the week due to recent snowfall and field conditions. We are assessing outdoor surfaces daily and will communicate any schedule adjustments as soon as decisions are finalized.

At this time, it is very likely that middle school spring sports will be postponed by one week. This potential adjustment would allow our high school programs to rotate through indoor facilities as necessary. BUT we will confirm this and communicate this effectively.

We appreciate your flexibility and patience. Updates will be shared promptly as conditions change.
