HSI- Euless Attendance

This page will answer your simple attendance questions. Don't see the answers to your questions??? Please feel free to refer all of your attendance questions and concerns to Mrs. Herrera. Mrs. Betty is Harmony School of Innovation's Attendance clerk and Registrar.

In general, there are two things I need you to do if your student is going to be absent:

Call the school and report your child absent:

Please call me at (817) 554-2800 option 1, by 9:00 a.m.on the first and each day your student is absent or Email me at: bherrera@harmonytx.org.

NOTE: If I do not hear from a parent or guardian by the morning of the second consecutive school day missed, I am required to notify our truancy officer.

Why are absence calls necessary?

Excessive absences are considered truancy under state law, the school reserves the right to take extreme absence cases to court. For detailed attendance information please read the Harmony Public Schools student handbook pages 13-15. We really appreciate receiving those calls and emails about absences first thing in the morning as it helps us ensure the safety of all of our students. Thank you!

Send a Written Note:

Upon returning to school, the student must bring a note, signed by the parent that describes the reason for the absence. A note signed by the student, even with the parent’s permission, will not be accepted.

Please do not send notes on post its, index cards or torn pieces of paper. Notes must be received within three days of the absence or the absence will be unexcused.

Extended Absence?

Are you planning to take your student out of school for an extended absence? Pre-plan multiple day absences (for any reason) require advance approval by the teacher and our Principal. Please call me at 817-554- 2800 option 1 or stop by the front office and I’ll walk you through the simple authorization process and arrange for a homework packet to be prepared for your student to take with them.

Note: Even if extended absences are approved they may still be considered unexcused.

PERFECT ATTENDANCE

Perfect attendance means just that - perfect. No tardiest, no absences, no midday appointments (except during the students designated lunch period).

LATE TO SCHOOL/TARDY

If a student is late when school begins they are considered tardy if they are not in their seats before 8:05 am. All students tardy after 8:10 must be signed in at the Welcome Center by an adult. Afternoon early dismissals must be before 3:00 pm.
