A Note from the Principals:
Finish Strong with the Oriole Way
Dear Osseo Middle School Families,
It’s hard to believe, but there are fewer than 80 school days left in the school year! As we approach the final stretch, this is the perfect time to support your student and our school by reinforcing the principles of the Oriole Way: Be Respectful, Be Responsible, Be Resourceful.
We’ve had a successful year so far, and as we celebrate all the progress our students have made, it’s also important to remind them of the daily habits that lead to success. Here’s how we can all work together to keep things on track:
- Be on time for class: Punctuality sets the tone for a productive day.
- Use respectful, school-appropriate language: Words matter, and a positive environment helps everyone succeed.
- Keep cell phones away during learning time: Focusing on classwork without distractions improves engagement and learning.
- Complete assignments on time: Staying on top of schoolwork ensures students are prepared for each new lesson.
The end of trimester 2 is quickly approaching on March 6, giving students time to catch up on assignments or seek additional support if needed. Let’s continue to celebrate the achievements they’ve made this year while encouraging them to finish the trimester strong!
As you support your student at home, remember that ParentVue is a great resource for staying informed about your student’s progress. In ParentVue, you can find:
- Grades and attendance information, including a summary of days missed
- A centralized location for messages from teachers and the school
- Parent-teacher conference scheduling
- Report cards and mid-trimester progress reports
- Access to key details, such as your student’s locker number and combination, lunch PIN, and access codes for Schoology for Parents and the FirstView bus tracking app
- EduTrakConnect (formerly SmartSchoolK12) to add money to lunch accounts, make online payments for fees, and register for athletics
For more details on these features or to activate your ParentVue account, please visit the district website.
Thank you for your continued partnership in helping every student reach their full potential. Together, we can make the remainder of the school year productive, positive, and rewarding.
Warm regards,
Brian Chance, Principal
Jan Bitzer, Assistant Principal
From the Counselors: RAMP Designation & Registration Information
RAMP
The district added Osseo Middle School, Palmer Lake Elementary and Park Brook Elementary schools to its already impressive list of RAMP-recognized schools for 2025. Ramp stands for Recognized ASCA Model Program and signifies a program that is exemplary in its comprehensive, data-driven approach to school counseling.
The three new sites to earn RAMP designation join 11 district sites that have earned this recognition previously, making Osseo Area Schools a state leader in dedicating time and resources to ensuring its school counseling programs are as effective as possible.
Registration/Schedule Information
Osseo Middle School students registered for their 2025-2026 courses during the week of January 27th. Parents/Guardians will be able to view their student’s course requests on Parent VUE later in February. Thank you for your partnership to ensure that your student is registered and prepared for next school year!
