Civil Discourse Conferences

"Last Thursday night, the Civil Discourse conferences on the economy, gender roles, and education were so involved, academic, passionate, and inspiring!" teacher Staci Tharp said. "Students spoke passionately from their research knowledge and own experiences about real issues. Students write tremendously effective researched arguments. This is the beauty of allowing student choice, we get to see such rich displays of true learning."

A Word From The Theatre Department

We would like to say a big THANK YOU to all of WHS for the help and support with hosting the District One-Act Play Competition. The kids did a fantastic job last week having the audience laughing while being thoroughly entertained. Although we did not advance to bi-district, the kids did their best performance to date, and there was nothing else we could have asked of them.

We did receive 3 individual awards:

Lauren James received an All-Star Cast Medal.

Robert Chavez received an Honorable Mention All-Star Cast Medal.

Trint Gardiner received an Outstanding Tech Medal.

We would especially like to THANK the band, choir, and E hallway teachers for the use of their rooms and Todd Jones and Alma Nichols for all their help and support.

We are currently looking to set a date for a public performance, so please stay tuned for more information if you would like to have a barrel of laughs watching the people of Fayro, Texas, show you some Southern Hospitality.
