Don't forget to wear your favorite farmer's attire to school on Friday, October 30th, to support
the Dorman Cavaliers as they take on the Vikings that evening!
On Farmer's Day, District Six faculty, staff, students, and families have the opportunity to dress up
like farmers to show their support of our Dorman Cavaliers football team! Farmer's Day is a
long held tradition in Spartanburg School District Six. We celebrate Farmer's Day on the day
that Dorman High School plays Spartanburg High School in football. The tradition began years
ago when Dorman High School was situated in farm country and Spartanburg High School was
considered the "city school.”
This is an extremely exciting day for FES as we have our BIG Farmers Day Event which includes pumpkin picking with STEAM activities, outdoor games, a petting zoo funded by FES's PTO, photos, and more!

Morning Car Rider Kindness
To assist with a quick flow of our car rider line, please follow the procedures below:
- Make sure your child is ready to get out of the car when you pull up to the curb.
- Cars are to unload between the two designated cones – one at the covered dining area and the other past the back of the covered awning.
- ]We understand this seems like a far walk for students, but we promise that students walk this distance multiple times a day due to the size of our building.
- Pull all the way up behind the car in front of you so we can fit in as many cars as possible from the back of the school building.
- All parents and guardians are to stay in their cars while in the car rider line, as there are faculty and staff members on duty to assist your child with getting out of the car and onto the sidewalk.
- If your child is struggling with getting out of the car, please park in one of the parking spots labeled closest to the playground, and a faculty or staff member on duty will come and assist.
- When stopped at the sidewalk area, please have your child exit the car, step onto the sidewalk, and begin walking toward the center of the sidewalk before driving away.
- Morning Car Rider Drop Off: 7:00AM-7:45AM with students being counted as tardy if they are not in their classrooms by 7:45AM.
Please note that one parent getting out of the car or one car not pulling all the way up causes our car line to back up by a minute each time. These minutes add up and can cause the car line to back up onto Mt. Zion Road.
Afternoon Car Rider Lines are Idle-Free
With the safety of students always our top priority, we ask that all FES families picking up their children in the car rider line turn off their engines when students are 20 feet from their vehicle. This ensures no car rolls and ensures students are not inhaling exhaust when walking between our two car rider lines. Once the students have walked 20feet past your vehicle, you may turn your engine back on. Please help ensure the safety of our students during afternoon car rider dismissal by following this procedure.
