Practice Makes Progress!

Families,

Homework is given every Monday and is due on Friday. Please be sure to work with your child daily to reinforce what they are learning.

For the reading passage, please listen and watch your child read for 1 minute straight. Mark the section at the bottom each day, circling the words they get correct and incorrect. The expectation is that your child reads the passage once a day and grows in their number of words correct by Friday.

Math homework is to be completed and returned with the reading homework. We suggest all homework stays in your child’s folder during the week so that it does not get left at home on Friday.

Work diligently on having students read their "red words" with automaticity. Students should be able to read them quickly when they see them. We have these words listed in our classroom. Once every student has signed off on reading every word correctly, the whole class will get a gumball!

Let us know if you have any questions,

How To Do the UFLI Homework

Please view the videos below with directions to help you with homework at home! We will send homework with this format each week to help you keep it consistent. The documents below are instructions in English and Spanish, as well as a list of ALL heart words this year.

The video below is a SAMPLE PAGE. The HALF SHEET is always the one intended for homework that week for your child, and should match the spelling rule on their fluency passages.
